He hammered it, no doubt.

Meanwhile...in Cleveland...MR. CLUTCH is 0 fer 7:D :D

Dont get me wrong...his regular season numbers were ABSURD this year. But come the first of Oct...all those numbers go flying out the window.

GPK 10-06-2007 08:34 AM

You gotta know that Beckett's complete game on Wed. night was the biggest reason that the pen was able to completely stifle the Angels last night after Dice K got yanked early. Huge effort last night from the bullpen.

Same as the Cubs dualing Mr A's...Alphonso and Aramis(sp?)..They are giving A-Rod a run for his money for Oct chokes. This ChiSox fan is loving it

MaTH716 10-06-2007 08:43 AM

A-Rod has not been good, but neither has the rest of the team. They are batting about .122 for the series. I do not think Captain America has been on base yet. A-Rod will take the brunt of it, but the bottom line is how can you blame one guy when the whole team gets 3 hits in an eleven inning game.

It was also nice to see someone finally stick it up K-Rod's ass, not thrilled that it was Manny and the Sox. But kind of nice anyway.

This guy is really underrated! He works as hard as anyone to prep for a game!
Good srticle in Fridays L.A. Times(if anyone can access it) He works with hand/eye coordination every day in prep for the game. His teammates just shake their heads. His public personna belies his hard work...but he'll still make the Hall easy!:)

fpsoxfan 10-06-2007 04:59 PM

Being a Sox fan he can drive me nuts with his Manny being Manny, but he is clutch. I was pissed that he wasn't in the lineup for most of the end of the pennant race, but in the long run it was the right thing to do. He's the man.

Top 10 would be more like it

too bad he doesn't put more time into his iron glove...

Is this guy gunna be 60,and still have hair like that?

this was a total breakdown from 1-9 , arod shares no more blame then jeter, get real!!!!!!! where was posada when they needed some runs?

SCUDSBROTHER 10-07-2007 08:48 AM

Ain't my Cubs.I just put that up for SCAVS,BECAUSE HE WANTED TO KNOW WHAT to do with the Cubs insignia he carved out of his hair. It's a doggystyle affirmation.I don't think he picked that idea.

Good ol Manny...brings tears to my eyes. Part of the incredible run by the Indians farm system, in the late 80s/early 90s when in a 5 year period they ran out Albert Belle, Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez and Brian Giles. 4 guys with over 1600 combined career homers. Something like that from within one system in such a short time will never happen again, and I don't know if it has ever happened before.

Well Arod, Pujols and Bonds are easy. Ortiz, Vlad, Holiday, Berkman, Cabrera are all in the same mix considering his last 2 years. Frank Thomas may have slipped but had a high peak, Griffey too. I like Manny as a hitter but he is not in the same class as the first three anymore and has certainly benefited from Fenway.

He has had an amazing run and has always been a great run producer is a surefire HOF.

Mortimer 10-09-2007 09:49 PM

None of those guys ever got in 165 runs.

He has played just about half his time in Cleveland so that tosses the Fenway thing...his best years were here, too ...he does stink in the field and on the bases, but is a natural born hitter.

I would think he certainly is in the same class with the first 3....but that's just a predator speaking.

Of course if the 165 are taken in context of the brief era of 70 hrs seasons it is not quite so impressive though you could surely make the same case for Bonds
