The best TV show no one is watching

My husband and one of my friends finally successfully nagged me into watching "Friday Night Lights" on DVD and holy cow; it's good. The ratings have been terrible, which is a shame. The network is giving it another half season to see how it does, but if ratings don't pick up they'll can it.

Netflix this show's first season, for the love of Pete, so you can get caught up before the second season starts. It's exciting TV about a high school football team and I say this as someone who has attended exactly two high school football games in my entire life, the last one in 1996. First one in 1986, come to think of it. Or maybe 1987.

Honest, I don't proselytize for a TV show unless I think it's that good. For example, I have somehow gotten sucked into "Rock of Love with Brett Michaels" but I would not recommend anyone else giving up an hour a week of his or her life to watch it, because, frankly, it's crap. But I am weak.

I seriously tried to watch this show, but I couldn't make it through the first episode. It didn't hold my interest.

By the way, I was sucked into Rock of Love too. :) Although by my avatar, you can see that I like cheesy shows. :D

Could "ROL" be any more staged? And yet, I keep watching...

Watch the last 15 of "FNL"... really. Maybe that'll do it... :)

How's Buck?

I have so many shows that I watch. I will try to give it a shot though. Just because I have heard it is good from a few people. :)

ROL is sooo staged, but yet I still watch too.

Buck is great. Going to do our first walk/trot/canter show in two months. OH BOY!

Have you found a place to ride yet?

I never have watched it...then again, I don't have access to TV right now. By the first of the month I hope to have my own place...lots of new shows (and old) I want to check out...Bones and House of course, and Moonlight deserves a watch perhaps along with New Amsterdam. Sarah Conner Chronicles whenever it starts (Summer Glau as a terminator...must see TV) and a couple others. Meanwhile...Buffy, have you been keeping up with the Buffy comics? Excellent! And Angel will be out in November (first 6 pages available on line and it rocks)!!

You better get a TV soon. All the shows are starting! I would go crazy!

I did- it's a bit of a hike (an hour and fifteen via bus, subway and then a walk), but I like it. The lessons are definitely just about being a better general rider, but that's fine with me. The best part is, the trails are gorgeous and after the owner realized my friends and I bring the horses back cool and dry, he now lets us go out without a guide. Which resulted in my getting lost out in the woods one time, but I eventually found my way back. No thanks to the horse, who was more interested in snacking than in finding his way home. Everytime we got to a fork in the road and I'd ask which way, he'd go straight for nibbles along the edge of the trail. Not for nothing they call him Chunky.

OK, you ride a horse named Chunky... Too cute! Sounds like Buck in his desire for treats.

An hour and fifteen minutes though? That is a long hike! But it is worth it! Glad to hear you are still riding though.

Chunky is very sweet, so I actually usually cede him to a friend of mine who is a beginner. I like two of the appys there- Snickers and Cosmo. Cosmo is great for working on getting your entire leg on him, as he's so bouncy at the sitting trot, that if you're not riding with leg on and back relaxed you'll get bounced right out of the saddle! He and Snickers have their fair share of attitude, which makes them a bit more fun. :)
