Joe Bravo in a horrible spill

Happened just now in the 3rd race at Belmont on Find The Chestnut. Doesn't look like she's going to make it.

If anyone recieves any info on Joe please share it.

Oh boy that was horrific. Hate to see that.
Hope Joe Bravo is OK, didn't look good.
It was hard to see in frame by frame slo-mo from the angle if he got stepped on but it sure looked like he did.
And the horse..... sad, another to add to the list.

Looked nasty...

That didn't look like a breakdown as much as it looked like a heart attack, horse wasn't moving once it hit the ground.

Given where he was located, it could have been alot worse for other jocks. Lets hope Jersey Joe has minimal damage

Was it just the one horse spill, or were there other horses and jockeys involved?

No it was the left front leg that gave out, really nasty. I was trying to see if Joe Bravo got stepped on and saw the breakdown in slo-mo. Almost couldn't look but couldn't avoid seeing it .
Looked like one horse got around him but another horse might have jumped him but may have stepped on him.
Shame for opening day.

Jockey Bravo Hospitalized After Belmont Spill
by Claire Novak

Jockey Joe Bravo was hospitalized with a potentially fractured left clavical following a spill at Belmont Park, when his mount broke down in the upper stretch during the third race on the New York track's opening day card.

Bravo was aboard the Gary Contessa-trained Find The Chestnut, a 4-year-old daughter of Horse Chestnut who had a 2-2-1 record from eight career starts, in a $50,000 one mile allowance race. The filly was first at the start, took back to fourth, and was making a move in second off the turn when she broke her right front leg and unseated the rider.

Two horses, the Tom Bush-trained Rosie's Attitude under Garrett Gomez and the James Corraro-trained Carrs and Stripes under Channing HIll, collided with the fallen runner before continuing on to finish fourth and sixth in the field of seven.

Bravo remained on the track until paramedics moved him to an ambulance. He was reported to be conscious and alert, but was taken directly to North Shore University Hospital. No further information on his condition was immediately available.

Find The Chestnut, owned by Wolf Hollow Stables, was euthanized.

Thanks for the update.
Broken collar bone that's not good for Joe Bravo.

OH and yeah that would be correct about the horse I said left leg, my left her right.
RIP and hope Joe Bravo heals well. Sad on opening day.

Did the rest of the card go OK, I had to go out.

that was terrible, and its horrible for jersey joe bravo who would of picked up some nice breeders cup horses at his home track

Clavicle fracture depending on how complex may be healed completely in 6 weeks so Jersey Joe may still have a presence at BC where he is unquestionably the best jock riding that track...
