The Great State of Texas

We now have a new pledge of allegiance to Texas.

The old version, prescribed about 2 years ago to be read in every class room in my great state:

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one and indivisible."

Has just this year been changed to:

"Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible."

Im thinkin this might have
an affect on my ability to
wager on the horses in other
states. Or play bingo at any
gatherings other than church
related functions.

At times one must ask themselves
if the Talking Heads are sages when
they wrote:

My God,
This is not my house,
this is not my beautiful wife,
what am I doing HERE.

I believe it's actually, "How did I get here" but mad props for quoting the Talking Heads. Unless you were quoting, "My God; what have I done?" but I don't imagine so, seeing as how I don't see how any of this change in the Texas pledge could be your fault.

Sorry about that change in the Pledge. Well, "under God" was added to the US Pledge in the 1950's because of fears of big, bad Communism. What is it now, do you think? Fears of big bad Islam? Never mind that Moslems and Christians worship the same god.

The Pledge was written by a Socialist, come to think of it.

I wonder what Molly Ivins would have had to say about that? I miss her writings

Moslems and Christians don't worship the same God......as Moslems believe Christ was a teacher or holy man....not the "Son of God! As advertised, Jesus said that the way to the Father was through Him, and that if you've seen me...you've seen the Father. Christ also stated "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life". I only post this for clarification...nor to engage in fiesty rhetoric with y'all.

Tim, i was going to post the exact thing and you beat me too it. Although theoretically they both worship the god of abraham, they don't believe in the power of christ which totally changes things. Also, jesus not only said the only way to the father is through me, he also stated in John that he and the father are one. Thereby,if the islamic faith truly believed in the god of abraham, they would also have to be in the divinity of christ, which they currently do not.

I really just wanted to make sure we (Texas),
was/is still apart of the U.S. The under God thing
was a necessity as Satan was apparently making
political inroads among the state house and senate.

I think Rick Perry's hair was forged into its DEVO
molded shape in the fires of hell. So Im glad we
got that Satanic doo taken care of with the
new pledge.

ON a side note:

I do not recite the pledge and they cant
make me dammit. Some of the older kids
actually replace the word Texas with
the county we live in, Bexar (pronounced bear)
to be silly. I feel secure knowing our county
is one and indivisible.

So then Jews and Christians also don't worship the same God?

i feel sorry for the earths population.
cause so few live in the u.s.a.
at least the foreigners can copy our morality
they can visit but they cannot stay

only precious few can garner our prosperity
it makes us walk with renewed confidence
we've got a place to go when we die
and the architect resides right here.

we've got the american jesus
bolstering national faith
we've got the american jesus
overwhelming millions every day

No we pledge allegiance to the United States FIRST, and then to Texas.
So we are all very confused, not only because we are Texans, but
because we are trying to figure out if God and/or land is divisible by one.

If war breaks out between Texas and the US, Texas will lose
out of pure disorientation of allegiance.

So dont worry about us... uhmmm. I would like permission to defect.

Texas is dumb enough not to have a casino. The casino's in Louisiana laugh at Texas everytime that a plate from Texas is playing in Louisiana. Lake Charles where the Isle of Capri is located is only a 2 1/2 drive. Texas has pari mutual wagering, I still dont understand thier beef about casino's. Maybe im ignorant or dumb. The so called governor doesnt do anything, the only time he does anything is when an election is near.

And some of these guys think GW is bad. Just imagine if Rick Perry really took control over anything. Holy smackers what an embarrasment of a governor we have. Flippin Aggie.
