The jokes just write themselves

This obviously heterosexual Senator from Idaho cruising for homosex in an airport bathroom.

Obviously, the details are all out there -- but he's got balls of steel to hold a press conference during which he basically 1.) insists that in no way, shape, or form is he, or has he ever been gay. Most people cruising airport bathrooms for homosex use this same excuse, ya know, the one where they were looking for gay sex because that is what most normal heterosexuals do on a long layover at an airport and 2.) blames the whole thing on a newspaper which had been investigating his homosex tendencies with regard to his votes for anti-gay legislation. Again, because most rational Americans (perhaps Idaho is not full of them?) can fully understand that a newspaper, in and of itself, can investigate one person and one issue so thoroughly that it just pushes someone to their breaking point. The kind of breaking point where someone says "well, they're sure I'm gay, and I'm totally sure I'm not. I'll show them. Imagine what they'll say when I get caught soliciting strangers in airport bathroom stalls for the very type of sex they accuse me of so enjoying. That'll teach them!"

Lest I forget my favorite part -- his foot was under the officer's stall and his hand swiped underneath, not because he was trying to initiate homosex in an airport bathroom, but because he has a "wide stance" when using the loo.

Seriously, that's rich. You can't make that $hit up.

First line out of his mouth during the press conference: "Thank you for coming out."

No Senator Craig, thank you.

Like I said, the jokes just tell themselves.

all I can say is...."AMAZING!"

ArlJim78 08-28-2007 06:34 PM

they just played a clip on tv from 1999 showing the senator talking about how bill clinton was a naughty boy, and perhaps a very very bad boy, in reference to all the lewinski mess. this guy is a piece of work.
he is a us senator and he pleads guilty to the airport charge but seems that his biggest outrage is that he was called gay. "i am not gay and never have been gay!". i didn't know it worked like that.

he says he pleaded guilty to make it go away!! how stupid does he think people are? boy did that plan backfire. so long senator...its only a matter of time.

Those who have a need to de-humanize others always seem to fall victim to their own demons...I call that karma, someone else may have another name for it...in any event, Republicans and Tv evangalists seem to have a difficult time walking their walk...must be sad to hate what you are so much that you not only have to deny it but condemn others....

i mentioned this very thing the last time, I think it was the guy from Loiusiana who was preaching family values and then turned out to be on the madams list. oops.

i'm trying to imagine how these people reconcile it, how they live with themselves? doesn't it eat away at them, preaching values during the day, then leaving the spouses and cruising for sex at night?

it does seem that preachers and other moral do-gooders seem to have the most problems.

Please tell me you two are acting naive on purpose.

from what i've read over the years, the most virulent homophobes actually have homosexual tendencies. that only fuels their need to attack it--a sense of shame, self-hatred, denial, etc...feel bad for the guys' wife, she probably never had a clue. and how can anyone expect him to come clean, he's been lying to his nearest and dearest, how could anyone else think he'd be honest with them?

omg you're kidding, right?! lol

yeah, don't you hate people who can't make up their minds??

i just think it's a shame that some people feel the need to be sneaky and dishonest--and for what? all i can figure is someone did a number on some of these people while they were growing up, and they aren't true to themselves. you'd have to think it would lead to a lifetime of misery and feeling that you were pretending all along.

hi_im_god 08-28-2007 08:28 PM

the joke is there are no straights or gays. it isn't an on/off switch. everyone is somewhere on a sliding scale.

it's a dirty little secret though. don't tell anyone.

first poster to deny this is 60/40.

I'm not denying Dannie won't miss me at all...but interesting comment.

You know,Hi, you do have guts. I would guess we're all a little bit of everything...some more of things and some less of other things.

Maybe it's a fine line between who we are and who someone else is.

Most of us can't really make up our minds where our humankind came from.

That could be what throws us off.

Oh I wrote a lot more, but just erased it all...I'm so full of it.

They interviewed him on the radio and he sounded dead serious. And then I read the actual sequence of events thinking this sounds like a man who has been done some sort of injustice.

I really think he believes nothing happened. Absolutely Bizarre.

I think the deity's post went right over my head.
But you got the inside scoop.

I would say genetic penetrance of some "disorder" that involves behavior is a very tough thing to get a handle on.
Good to know you got the sliding scale thing down so cold.
