For example, many believe that Dahlia was a much better racemare than Allez France but in head to heads, lost 6-0. There are loads more examples like that. Its very strange, even when horse A has been beaten by horse B (sometimes on numerous occasions!), we still think horse A is better!!

are you telling me that C.P. West is not better than Street Sense?

not quite that, but lets take Skimming who on head to heads with Tiznow is 2-0 (apologies if wrong here but Skimming beat Tiz in both the 2000 Pacific Classic and 2001 Goodwood Handicap!!) but not in a million years would be considered the better horse!

Where you at this week anyways?

The coast of Dafar? Ice fishing in the Weddell Sea? Perhaps you are in Perth hoping for Australian citizenship...

Ill pretend I havent seen your last few posts!! There are plenty of things I find odd about the States, but I'll have to leave it for another thread. and how did you know I was in Perth??

I figured since America denied you citizenship, Australia was your next choice

Sunday Silence vs. Easy Goer is the one that gets me. There are still those that say EG was better dispite the 3-1 score. I do admit that going into the Classic, I thought that EG has maybe turned the tide and was ready to even the score and if they had finished 2-2, I would have given EG the edge. But, despite the margin only being a neck in the Classic, Sunday Silence was a clear winner of that race to me. I never thought he was in danger; McCarron never went to the stick on him. If they had run at Belmont 10 times, EG might have held a 7-3 or 8-2 edge. That track suited him perfect. But versatility has to count for something. Sunday Silence was the better horse.

Of course, neither of them was the best 3yo of that year.

KING GLORIOUS!!!!

actually, i went to school in the bay area and king glorious was probably my favorite horse from that crop. his 20 length win in the mud in 108 was one of the most completely awesome performances i've ever seen!
