Truly a Judge ~ old guys rule!

Couldn't care less if he's first, last, whatever.....

GOOD LUCK to Truly a Judge, Esquire, today in R8 at Del Mar.

Love the old guy to death..... one of my favorites and i just had to wish him a safe trip home. :)

I also would like to wish Truly a Judge the best of luck today. Any horse that reads this forum is worthy of praise.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but Truly A Judge is a spring chicken compared to Hermosillia, running in his final race today at 15. Hermosilla isn't in the same class as the Judge, but nevertheless quite a warrior.

He finished second in his last race at Wyoming Downs 8/5/07 in a $1600 claimer for a $2500 tag. This will be his 74th career start according to a DRF article 8/3/07

............but at least the Del Mar race will be televised..........

Oh yeah I read about that one.... hope he bows out with a win. :)

Court's in Session (8YO) is in the race with Judge.... he should be listed as a gelding. Not that it matters but hey... gotta give the gentleman some attention too.

(Sniper if you're around no disrespect to our boy Chips, but.....)

FGFan 08-26-2007 02:45 PM

I love the old guys. That race at Del Mar is funny though.
Truly a Judge next to Court's in Session, that's a good one.
Hope all the old guys come home safe. Wish I could watch that elko one with Hermosilla, I saw that the other day.

"Court's in Session (8YO) is in the race with Judge.... he should be listed as a gelding"
BTW a ridgling is different. He wasn't born with both of his parts, only had one.

Oh yeah i know but look..... :)

Not as bad as when Equibase listed Colonial Colony (applause! :D I loved him) as a gelding.

I'm in moron mode.... cannot find results for Elko! Did he win?

FGFan 08-26-2007 05:27 PM

Ooops, didn't see that, just looked at drf. LOL, they have made some funny changes.
Can't find Elko yet.

my miss storm cat 08-26-2007 07:43 PM

Congrats to the connections of Fete..... a nice win.

Great to see the Judge back on the track.

(STILL can't find Elko!)

Oh! I had no idea!

Please let him know that his horse is loved. :)

2Hot4TV 08-27-2007 06:29 AM

His owner gives him what ever time away from the track he needs. He is big good looking gelding that still wants to race.

FGFan 08-27-2007 11:36 AM

Let Truly the Judge and his owners know he has a fan club, and we enjoyed watching him race.
He had a nice race yesterday.
Still can't find Elko w/ Hermosilla.

FGFan 08-27-2007 11:56 AM

Oh, speaking of the old guys, Evening Attire is entered in the 8th at Saratoga today for the MTO, he's a fav of mine.

Not off turf/scratched, re-entered on the dirt, R3 on the 30th.

FGFan 08-27-2007 03:46 PM

Hermosilla came in 6th. The only race they have listed results is for that race...LOL

Fondest regards to Mr. Truly a Judge, Esquire, who ran at Oak Tree today.

Doesn't matter to me where he finished... it was a joy to watch him and he came home safe. I hope he got a nice reward for his gallant efforts. :)

Pedigree Ann 10-14-2007 09:02 AM

Looking at Truly a Judge's pedigree, I see that he comes from an Isaacs family out of Florida (all those horses named with initial 'I's). Mr. Isaacs bred sound, professional racehorses as a policy.

Speaking of oldsters, was at Doncaster for the St. Leger. Last race of the day was a class 3 handicap over 6f, won by 12yo Ellens Academy; rest of the competitors were either 3 or 4. He has won 3 races this year, has a lifetime record of 98/10-11-9.
