Thank you Saratoga!

This is long overdue. I want to bring this up before the leaves start to change colors. Love or hate NYRA they have done a great job with this meet. I can't remember the last meet that has had such full fields that have been as tasty as they've been. Parity you say? How about Cornelio and Kent fighting it out for the Jockey's race? How about a shout out for Bill Mott? Good for him. We wait all year for this. Is there a better place to bet horses? I've been seven times this year. Whether you are a $2 bettor or heavier this track has the beauty and mistique that can't be matched. We have a little more than a week to go before the summer winds begin to feel a little cooler and everyone begins to think about the Breeder's cup. But, for all it's worth. Thank You Saratoga!!

Little premature to be thanking Saratoga. Let us enjoy it before wishing it away. This is the biggest weekend of the meet and the last weekend and week are great too. Other than the gate crew though, Saratoga has once again proved to be the best meet in the country.

As Byk just mentioned on his radioshow though, only 2 supers on Travers day is a disgrace to the betting public. Instead they want to promote this ridiculous bet called the Grand Slam. It is a sucker bet and everyone knows it. There is absolutely zero way to determine payout which means any serious gambler would avoid it at all costs.

"T" thanks them a lot for the only D.Q. this meet  heard all about it today.

The amount of money they took from me today, Saratoga should thank me.

Ah well, that's why they make tomorrow.

Ooooh, last summer they ended the meet with Sinatra's "Summer Wind" over the loud speaker...

That's exactly why I want to do it now. What a great meet. It used to be Pletcher/Velazequez and then some. Nothing against those two cats, but it sure has been a fun meet.

She couldn't forget me practically crying as we were walking out that day :D

I echo your sentiments all around. What an amazing meet so far!

lets just hope the rain will hold off the next couple of days. Wuth all of those turf races on Travers Day, at least gimme a yielding turf. It has been a good meet thus far.

But, who first used "Sweet Caroline" as thier signature song, the Red Sox or the N.Y. Rangers???

Hate to rain on this Sinatra parade, but Monmouth Park has been doing that since the Pope of Greenwich Village came out.....Saratoga should get its own damn song.

Learn how to play the Grand Slam. Find a nice single on the last leg and go 3X3X3X1 and you have a chance to hit it 27 times. If you play a P4 and your horses go 1-2-3 you get no more than if your horses go 1-11-12.

That's for sure. Calling for heavy rainshowers both Friday and Saturday afternoon. Hopefully it misses Saratoga.

He's gone through some serious cash the last few days. Not to worry for Travers Day, he's in Michigan for two Dave Matthews shows. We will be at Tom's. If you're around, stop up.

Traveling all the way to Michigan to see Dave Matthews
I would rather spend the money @ the track... but not go crazy with his type of bets. He must be a millionaire!
Going to the track both Saturday & especially Sunday :) !
