Mikey "Or..." will be very unhappy.

These horses seemingly have the racing life expectancy of a goldfish!!!

Are we breeding the longevity out of these animals faster than global warming becomes a relavant event?

I'm sorry to hear this news. Cotton Blossom was one of my faves.

sumitas 08-13-2007 09:26 PM

I believe her last race was on the dirt at the Test S. in Saratoga.

Broken Vow is by Unbridled --- not Unbridleds Song.

Hopefully long. She's not very good, but has grown on me.

I think Pletcher should point either her or Panty to the Personal Ensign. A disappointing list of horses pointed there.

slotdirt 08-14-2007 07:36 AM

Really though, hasn't she done enough?

oops...still makes the case tho, unbridled sired fast but fragile horses.

Sightseek 08-15-2007 12:23 PM

It's a bad week to have 'cotton' in your name...High Cotton was also retired.

Sorry Ms. Swap Fliparoo (the poster) no more Hi-C :(

I agree that he sired fragile horses, but I certainly wouldn't say "fast" ones.

He's actually won the four major Classic distance races for 3-year-olds with four different differnt horses.

Derby: Grindstone (who closed with a furious rally to get up)

Preakness: Red Bullet

Belmont: Empire Maker

Travers: Unshaded (who came with a big late run to nail Albert the Great)

Most of his horses were two-turn routers who came from off-the-pace.
