8/12: Saratoga (Day 17-C/O)

Yet another agonizing day that started with a miss at a big score and continued in a similar vain all day.. Might Gulch (12-1) was caught at the wire in the opener, denying a huge hit, and despite another 4 winners, nothing but chalky exactas could be produced.. Lost $110.00 on the day while employing Mighty Gulch (2nd/12-1); Leopard/Immortal Eyes (2nd race exacta); NNY/Building New Era (3rd race exacta); Spurred (4th race winner); Galluscio entry (4th race winner while Alexandros misses by two heads for 2nd at 7-1); True to Tradition (5th race winner); Greater Fool (2nd in the 7th); etc.. Yeesh... Hope you did OK...

Saratoga Sunday

Looks like another beautiful day at Saratoga for Sunday. Just got back home to California after spending a great family vacation at Saratoga starting with Sumwon's race and ending on a cold Fall like Friday. Sunday and Thursday were spectacular and the mornings at Chuck's Barn visiting Sumwon and my 2 year old NYB Wiseman's Ferry colt were special....

Here are my spot plays for Sunday....

Race 2: #1 Boxitup 2-1 . Repeat of last saving ground on the inside should be good enough... WON $4.50

Race 5: #10 Raw Silk 5-1. $460,000 purchase at 2 year old sale earlier this spring by Darley showed her speed in latest workout. She worked a nice 10.2 at the sale. OUT

Race 7: #10 Crystal Minuet 3-1. Last race by this Theatrical filly was simply faster than anyone else. If Johnny V. can work a good outside trip with this Mott trainee than expect her to win again. WON $7.10

Race 8: #10 Quota 3-1. Again another Mott trainee whose last race was simply faster than others. Play as Steve Byk suggests with the 4 and 9. WON 9-5

Good Luck,
PSH

steve, looks like your 2x2x2x2 would have worked out well in the early pick 4. $810 for 2, wish I would have had it.
