Henny Hughes earns 109 Beyer Speed Figure

..from comeback win at Monmouth Saturday where he was geared down while never asked for close to his best and McLaughlin claimed the horse needed the race....Ouch....it is absurd how fast this animal is....

gotta love him--i sure do

Amazing

what $2 million can get you....
he is a beautiful speciman in addition to being fast, very very fast.

Nice to see that a couple of million can get you a decent horse once in a while....

couldda had him for 180K as a yearling...

not too many high priced horses earn back their purchase price on the track....ap indy was one, maybe mr hughes will be another.

That was a very impressive comeback race.

This year's 3YO sprinters are a bumper crop ... let's pray they all stay healthy.

If Henny Hughes can come out on top of this group .... that will be a very special achievement.

Wajima ... a world-record priced yearling ... became champion 3YO colt.

Majestic Prince ... another world-record priced yearling ... became an undefeated Derby/Preakness winner.

It doesn't happen often ... but it does happen.

this horse was mighty impressive at two, a second in the BCJ beating first smurai and falling just short at the wire to a charging stevebrokenhorse, a charge that may have cost him his remaining racing lifetime. he took a lot of time off after chasing 1sam round every oval in america last summer. he is well rested, and should do ghoos up to 9f. his dosage wqas way short, as i recall, for him to stretch out to 10f, but we will see. he should menace in the fall races at saratoga and belmont, but i feel will be a little short at the classic distance.

My boy is going to rock the sprint division this year. He was so impressive in his comeback race, and he is only going to get better...
