A thank you note..

While generally unable to participate in the group activities during the opening week/weekend at Toga, I can't tell the visitors who made the trip how much I appreciated their coming. It was exceedingly special to me to regularly look up or around at the 3 dozen DTers close at hand by the Barbecue enjoying day after day of pleasure, as well as being regalled by the tales of nightly kookiness.

I'm thrilled everyone got along so well, making new friends 'in person' or getting to see each other again. As Barney, Joe, and so many others have written, it's an amazing group of diverse people all brought together by a common interest, and the satisfaction I receive from helping facilitate that is immeasureable.

Still five weeks to go, with another big group expected for the stable's affair Sunday; other new arrivals; and undoubtedly return trips. Thanks to everyone for spending parts of their visits with me. As always, anything that I get to do around the game has totally been driven by the members here, and it's impossible for me to appropriately express my gratitude for that...

Thank YOU, Steve. I'm so glad I got to meet so many great people because of derbytrail.com. :)

I always knew there were good people on this board. HOWEVER, I will not be going to 'toga because I fear getting shanked by one of the plastic forks from Carolina Bar-B-Q. And that, my friends, would be a poetic way to die but i'm not ready to ride that long black train just yet.

It is all hand eating my friend, even the potato salad. I tried one of each while I was there, favorite was the pork sandwich

Just because you chose to eat like an ape doesn't mean that there weren't forks available.

I have very good table manners, when needed.

For the record:

I used a fork.

I enjoyed the week-end so much, that I am going to plan a trip to Chicago and visit Arlington with the Windy City crew. You guy's were a blast, and if you ever want to come to New York City, I'll gladly take you all to Belmont Park.
