Was the Breeders' Cup Turf actually his last start? I want to think he had another start hidden in there somewhere.

I think he may have been entered at Gulfstream last winter but scratched.. I could be wrong though.

How are they going to beat Gigawatt in this spot?

It's really too bad we never got to see this horse continue and reach his potential.

Could not agree with you more. At one time, I was convinced that this was the best turf horse in America. Let's see what happens Thursday.

Although I am cautiously optomistic, unfortunately, I don't think we can expect to see what we saw last time (prior to the injury of course). Although the talent and potential was no doubt there, this horse always had soundness issues. He could come back at 100%, and be sound, but it's more likely possible than probable.

This horse created an incredible buzz when he was on his way. The comments I heard, from truly qualified opinions, that I respect, were really something -- and deservedly so.

This is some allowance race. Would be the race of the year at 90% of tracks, but at Saratoga it's the 8th on a Wednesday.

What a place.

Nice horse.

Personally I like Rousing Victory a lot but don't know if he's got a shot here.....

Come home safe everyone. :)

great race by Shakespeare. I didnt think he'd have the speed to match the Juddmonte horse but was proven wrong yet again!!

rgustafson 08-02-2007 07:24 PM

That was really nice. Off a year and 9 months, not his optimum distance and he gets the job done. He's only six,and if he can stay sound, the sky is the limit. Would be a great story.

I mean, not for nothing, but the horse has crossed the line first in every start of his career save one. It's not like he isn't talented. I'm glad to see him make it back to the races. Lots of others don't.

that is great news, glad he came back with a win! here's hoping for more.

He ran a good race...It is nice to see a horse that has been off for almost 2 years make a comeback. I wonder where he will be spotted next.

Almost most certainly the Man O' War.
