Hush!!!

What a pretty decent field. Much better than I thought.

I suppose Lear's Princess has some upside, but I'm not real interested in taking a short price on a filly trying dirt for the first time in a stake.

I was being a bit sarcastic.

Humble Janet!

Sound familiar???

ateamstupid 07-19-2007 07:23 PM

You know, I was going to make a post ragging on Octave and how I hope she doesn't win another G-I, but looking at her record, she's accomplished a lot, and at least she's consistent. May not be very fast, but it's a strong record at face value.

I agree, its hard to knock her. not a superstar but she shows up each time and is pretty game. I've found myself becoming a fan.

I'm with you on this one!

I think Sumwon could have earned a check in this if you guys entered her. I could see her getting 4th maybe...

letswastemoney 07-19-2007 10:12 PM

You know I've been thinking.....Octave is the one that will crush this weak group of allowance caliber fillies. Man if I had $1000, I'd put it all on Octave.

Scav 07-19-2007 10:23 PM

Octave has an amazing sheet if you ask me, that consistency that everyone is talking about really shows in her patter. What is amazing is that she is by Unbridled Song, who hasn't sired the most consistent or sound horses. Her sheet is 4 paired '9's, 3 paired '5.5's and two paired 4's......It shows you how good Pletcher is because 'move up stuff' or miracles don't produce a sheet like this IMO

Considering the allowances are $68,000 this year I think there are much nicer checks to chase on August 5th when she is actually ready for a race. Obviously the black type of placing in a G1 would be nice but we'll let Humble Janet get that for now. Sumwon kicked an awful lot of dirt in her face last time they squared off so she deserves it.

Nice to our horse's name listed in the running line of this race...makes me feel proud!

It is nice, she could have picked up a check against these. Having said that, Octave should crush this field.
