Del Mar opening day

I haven't looked at the form yet, but just from glancing at the entries, it should be a very interesting card.

The Oceanside Stakes drew 29 horses....and had to be split into three seperate divisions.

Also, $4.6 million yearling Maimonides (2yo son of Vindication, half sibling to El Corredor, Roman Ruler and Silver Tornado) makes his debut in the opening day 2yo MSW race.

Looks a good day.

Useful mare that Silvery Swan. I'm really interested in this first crop two year olds. You'd have to say that Hasili is absolute tops when it comes to present day american based mares with Silvery Swan, Goulash and Better Than Honour in a photo for second. Honorable mention to Shining Through...I loved Venetian Sunset.

I would take Baby Zip over many of them.

After all, she got City Zip and Ghostzapper with her first two colts.

I'm guessing you didn't miss Phantom Income's maiden win?

I never remember a 3 way split in the Oceanside...

How could I forget...

She has a 2006 filly by AP Indy, nothing reported for 2007 as of yet.

I didn't.

It was the same week as Tale of Ekati's.....who's dam is a Sunday Silence half sibling to Sky Beauty.

That is one stacked tail female family Tale of Ekati comes from!

Me neither.

I haven't followed Del Mar for the longest of times though.

It seems like that race splits almost every single year, but like you said, never remember seeing three divisions of it.

Hopefully all of these beautiful pedigrees will really deliver in the next few months! Maiden races are my favorite.

I Got The Pps , Now All I Need Are Winners.........

ALostTexan 07-15-2007 09:19 PM

I expect some great payouts on Wednesday. First day on the new Polytrack, plus all of the normal dead money for opening day, this could be huge.

I am going out if anyone else is there...

Cant Make It, But Will Surely Bet Online Before Work.

Hey, isnt that maimonides yearling named after an ancestor of yours?

No!

While I might fit the stereotype of a Jew....I'm not one of your people.

As you know, I'm Italian and Irish, a mix which has probably been proven to produce the best looking people the planet has ever seen.

And, if it hasn't been officially proven yet, it's only because enough research hasn't been done on the subject.

I don't think there will be any "dead" money on opening day. Considering the randomness, the "smart money" may well end up being dead money, and the number players and little old ladies may be the ones who come out on top.

What do you mean by randomness?

Maimonides is expected to scratch
