They have said that while in the past he has been an average at best work horse in the mornings, since he has been back in training, he has been going lights out. Maybe he is just glad to be back in training.

Drift was not entered for the tag. In fact, none of the runners were.

smuthg 07-08-2007 09:56 PM

love me some Drift... but time to let him head to pasture. He's done enough.

geeker2 07-08-2007 10:03 PM

Steve said he was going to have Murray Johnson on the show this week..be interesting what he has to say...but I agree with you..turn him out for good...he has earned it.

PPerfectfan 07-09-2007 10:02 AM

On another board someone had the nerve to compare Drift to The Tin Man,,,,,not even close. Tinny is still VERY competitive and winning Grade 1's, infact never worse than 2nd since his comeback. I just think they need to retire Drift and let him be a horse. And if he is unhappy, make a dang Pony horse out of him like Headly did Kona Gold, who I am told by sources, gets loose every so often to give the younger whipper snappers a run for their money!:D

If PD were in California he would be very similar to Tin Man. He would still be winning races, that Im sure of

Right now the only thing those two have in common is they are both horses. Fortunately for Tin Man he has a master plotting out his every move

The one other thing is Tin Man has always liked to win not run good seconds. Hes a finisher

Will someone please tell him that Buffymommy would love to adopt PD? I would have to change my name to Driftymommy but that is OK.

Not to belittle Brass Hat's amazing comeback run, but they also set a new track record for 6 furlongs later on the card, so the track was obviously verry verry fast yesterday.

letswastemoney 07-09-2007 05:38 PM

I read somewhere on drf.com on the blog section that Brass Hat only had a 98 beyer.

miraja2 07-10-2007 10:41 AM

I think the fact that there is a thread about Perfect Drift that hasn't turned into to a huge fight, indicates more than anything else that it is probably time for them to retire him.

This is a perfect example of a classified allowance race that's tougher than many graded stakes. For instance, this field TOWERED over the Grade 1 Prioress.
