Where is Showing Up?

He won the Maker's Mark at Keeneland correct? and then what? Also, is the Makers mark the only race he has run this year?

I think Kip Deville beat him. I read he was hurt and out 3 months and possibly the his career is over. Depends on how he responds. Not much of a stallion prospect so maybe the give him the year off and bring him back at 5. I believe the top 2 grass horses are like 8 and 9 years old right now.

Showing Up out with torn suspensory ligament
By DAVID GRENING
ELMONT, N.Y. - Showing Up, one of the leading turf horses in North America, will be out indefinitely after developing a tear to a suspensory ligement in his left foreleg, trainer Barclay Tagg said Thursday.

Tagg said Showing Up will be out of training for a minimum of three months. He would not speculate on whether Showing Up would be able to run again this year.

"I'm not going to run him for three months," Tagg said. "I'm going to see if I can get it better. It's pretty minor right now, and if I can get it better I'd like to get it better.

"I'm not even going to think about the Breeders' Cup; I'm not going to think about his year. I just want to get it better first. A lot of those things can heal up in three months. Maybe it will, maybe it won't, I don't know. We're going to give it every chance."

After running a respectable sixth to stablemate Barbaro in last year's Kentucky Derby, Showing Up, a son of Strategic Mission, developed into one of the top turf horses in the nation. Showing Up won the Colonial Turf Cup, the Grade 1 Secretariat, the Jamaica, and the Hollywood Derby.

In his only start this year, Showing Up finished second, beaten a neck by Kip Deville, in the Grade 2 Maker's Mark Mile at Keeneland.

Showing Up had been training for a start in the Grade 1 Manhattan on June 9. Less than two weeks ago, Tagg noticed a problem with Showing Up. An ultrasound revealed the tear.

Tagg skipped last year's Breeders' Cup with Showing Up, hoping to focus on a 4-year-old campaign designed to put him in contention for championship honors.

"He's a special horse," Tagg said.

He's chillin in the barn with Funny Cide and they are checking out all the hot fillies.

He'll probably return this winter at Gulfstream. Tagg isn't one to rush one back.

Suspensory ligament injuries SUCK... my gelding had one and it took forever to get him back to jumping. To be honest, he was never the same after.
