Bel race 2 6/27

just looking at the 2 yr old peds and i'd give a shot to Devi here. she has Secretariat crossed 3x5 and the super fast filly Crimson Saint (2nd dam Storm Cat) crossed 3x5. she also carries a 4x5 Northern Dancer cross. she's a Desert Warrior (Deputy Minister) filly out of a Tomorrow's Cat (Storm Cat) mare. her 2nd dam is the dam of So Sweet A Cat.

the coefficient of inbreeding is 2.723 % which is well below the coi red flag of 5 %.

That makes her dam a full sister to Terlingua, right? Nice...

I'm looking for value in this race and am attracted to 2 horses

6-Bet the Diva @ ML 8-1.

Posse 2 year olds doing really well this year .

1-Hook's Inca @ ML 8-1

Hook and Ladder 2 year olds also fairing well. I am however concerned about the 1 hole for this FTS.

Wasn't going to play today, but some very interesting races with what appear to be some value plays are jumping out, so I may take a look at the pp's and put a p4 ticket together.

Particularly like the feature - and if the m/l is any indication of what we'll see on the tote, could prove to be a very lucrative play. Currently showing Baby Grand @ 15/1, Stag Dance @ 20/1 and the longshot with a bug Becky's Flute at 50/1...I think they've all got a chance to sniff this one, and wouldn't be supprised at all to see Stag Dancer take it.

Difference in opinion

Might want to take a look at #4 horse- Myakka, Linda Rice's filly who was purchased at OBS FEB for $170,000 and on paper worked out a pretty fast 10.2. In restricted NYB race and might be a fast one....

Absolutely has a good shot along with #5,#7 and #10 and should be included on Pick-4's but If I'm betting to win on a early 2 year old race with this many FTS, I'm going to need serious value and 7/2 ML is not..

The sire, Desert Warrior's dam, Navajo Pass, is a full sister to Terlingua. his 2nd dam is Crimson Saint. on the mare side of Devi, her 2nd tail male sire is Storm Cat and his 2nd dam is Crimson Satan. on Devi's tail female line, her 2nd dam is the dam of So Sweet A Cat. this is the first foal for Devi's mare , Devilish Sly.

agreed. I'm not betting this one either until I see the tote board, it's gonna take more than a bullet and a big price tag to chase 7/2 (#4, Myakka)especially with Linda Rice's firster stats....I like the 7 as well but a worse price @ 5/2...Both should draw the lion's share of attention....If these two draw enough away to get a nice price on the 8 or the 6, might be a playable trip.

The winner was not the heavy favorite.

sumitas 06-27-2007 08:49 PM

symantics. she was the betting fav at 1.50...a couple of other fillies pulled in some big bucks, sure, the not so heavy, heavy fav won or fav nonetheless.

Semantics?

She was virtually the co-favorite as Linda Rice's firster was 8:5.

sumitas 06-27-2007 09:17 PM

ok fine, the virtual co-favorite favorite won.
