Finally at Philadelphia Park

They have finally made a move that actually thinks about the horseplayers!!!

I noticed this morning that their ancient broadcast that didn't even include the odds on the horse have finally been updated to include this information.

I know it isn't much, but they have actually thought about the players and made their racing a little more enjoyable to watch...

This always ticked me off. Glad they upgraded. But I still won't go there (despite the fact that I used to live in Philly and continue to work there) -- PHA has as much atmosphere as a government office building.

I went to Philly Park once a couple summers ago. Free to park, free admission and we rolled in a huge cooler full of refreshments and raw meat as well as a grill. Place was clean and we had a great afternoon of BBQ, drinks and small scale wagering on mediocre horses while sitting around a picnic table. I liked the place. Had a blast.

Not saying you can't have a good time with the right people and the right frame of mind, just saying that there are other options close by, like Delaware Park, that are just much more pleasant in terms of ambiance.

Plus, you might like Philly a lot less now that the slots have crowded out the facilities for horseplayers. It's like being forced to sit at the kiddies table at Thanksgiving dinner.

They still don't show coupled entries on their video feed, how hard is it to put up 1-1a, 2-2b and so on their video feed.

I'm sure that's true. We spent a few races in the grandstand sports bar upstairs (toward the top of the stretch) and I like it there as well. I imagine there a row of slot machines there by now!
