NYRA's Hayward responds

Here's President Hayward's response:

Should become interesting in the near future.

God! I wish all this "crap" would end already...puts a damper on the upcoming Spa meet...
but the "powers to be" wouldn't have it any other way.

HHH,
I agree with you. No need to put a damper on the Spa meet.
Seems to me that there's a whole lot at stake, and Hayward needed to respond to the smear.
That's the only reason I put it up. I also wish it was over.

He said She said

Sounds like someone is not telling the truth. I would have to believe NYRA in this case.... But it is sometimes he said she said and the truth is in the middle.....

Belmont and Saratoga are still world class racing venues and having this decided sooner than later would be quite helpful

Jeff Perlee has a history of telling untruths in this situation.

PSH,
If Perlee made claims of collusion, that forced Hayward to respond and defend.
It would indeed be helpful to NY racing if this was resolved.
There is mucho dinero on the line.

Last summer at Saratoga Jeff Perlee claimed that NYRA intentionally stalled the slot machines into the track and thus denied horsemen millions of dollars.

Now, let's think about this logically. Had the Slot Machines been in place say three years ago what kind of financial situation would NYRA be in today? Certainly it's safe to say a much stronger one than they currently find themselves in ( bankrupcy ). Now, would this financially strong NYRA be easier or harder to replace than the current one?

Who does Perlee think he's kidding?

I think much of those types of comments -- Perlee's -- are nothing more than propaganda, hollow and empty claims, and absent of facts.

it sounds to me that he just wants to keep his name in the media.
