The beauty of it! Real racin'. |
I will throw this question out...
Why dont we see more finishes like this? There seems to be way too many races that are run where you get fields strung out over many yards. I dont get it. |

Usually means it's a bunch of bad horses, I wouldn't bet anyone of them back... |
Seems like it should be so...but I don't really know. Racing Secs try to make races competitive. That's why you see so many horses running against each other many times. Just my guess.
Horses are different from day to day imo, and it's very difficult to card a race that intrigues the bettors. Chalk vs bombs and all that... Then, a race like this comes along... Just my two pennies worth. DTS |
seems you see a lot more 'blanket' finishes in turf racing. love to see a close finish with a competitive field.

Just watched the replay....nice. I hit Storm Boot Gold 3 weeks ago for a nice score at 17-1 or something like that. I would've bet him today, but by the time I realized he was running, I was already at work. They don't mind us surfing at work, but would probably frown on gambling. Ahhh well, does he look like a bounce candidate next time out?? I like the horse.

This race illustrates the pitfalls of "handicapping" and betting.
How can you pick a winner ... when there's only a half-length difference among the entire field? Sometimes "handicapping" is just a matter of pure luck. |
