Good Lord! I love this entire field.

Special happy thoughts to Maraahel who will get that great, great win one of these days.....

Not my pick, just had to say it. :)

COME HOME SAFE EVERYONE.

Yeats runs today, so i doubt he will run, but as far as i know they are intending to run Dylan again, the step back up in trip will suit him, i think but the ground looks like it could be soft at Epsom on Friday, and that really wouldn't suit him.

If the ground is soft i'd go for Septimus looked good on his return this year.

_ed_ 05-30-2007 05:27 AM

I'd love to see Sir Percy get back into winning form here. Tough field though!

A cracking little race. Kinane on Scorpion and Murtagh on Septimus.. Sixties Icon looked brilliant on his return this year but has to overcome course form with Sir Percy from the Derby last year..

Ok, definately picking Scorpion and Sixties Icon :).

I was disappointed with scorpion at Chester, esepecially as i was told he was going really well at home and they were confident. Softer ground will help him, but that can also be said for Septimus, who was the ante post derby fav a couple of years ago for quite sometime and i really like him for this.

brockguy 05-30-2007 01:03 PM

Septimus did really well on his comeback at the Curragh. He has to reverse Epsom Derby form with Sir Percy but on Soft Ground, he might just be able to get closer.. Scorpion has disappointed me too many times that I cant support him anymore. Anyway, I think Sir Percy and Sixties are a few pounds better than anyone else here..

NoChanceToDance 05-30-2007 01:08 PM

Will sixties and sir Percy like the ground, though? If they do, they will probably fight out the finish but i'm not so sure.

I think Septimus will be the value each way alternative.

brockguy 05-30-2007 01:15 PM

Neither has run much on genuinely soft ground but I reckon they'll handle it.. Septimus certainly looks the ew pick.. Do you think the ground will be Soft on Friday??

Well, they have just changed it officially from good to soft to soft after more rain again today.

It's a shame, because i'd prefer to see classics run on ground on the fast side of good as that is what good horses are bred to be best on these days, when really good races are run on soft ground it takes the shine of it, if you know what i mean.

Definitley looks like it will be called "soft" on Friday, though

my miss storm cat 05-31-2007 01:45 AM

The 11th time is the charm.....

MARAAHEL!

brockguy 06-01-2007 09:12 AM

ive backed Septimus but the ground isnt as soft as I first thought and both him and Sixties have many lengths to make up on Sir Percy over course and distance.... This will be a cracking race.

Funny, because i think the ground is getting slower after each race after it gets opened up. The times have been getting gradually slower.

He is one of the only relaxed ones in this field, another good sign.

He's my best bet of the day

oh dear god.. O'Brien 1-2...
maybe we've hyped these horses up alittle too much this year?

NoChanceToDance 06-01-2007 09:31 AM

I NEVER get Scorpion right.......... ever!

By the way the race was run...... was Septimus a pacemaker for the winner? Johnny kept looking behind really early to see where he was.

I was very confident Septimus would win when Murtagh went to the front even with Maraahel annoying him. But yeah Scorpion ranged past him quite easily but Septimus still ran on very well...

I cant believe he didnt beat Ask last time out..

A very annoying result for me. The amount i have lost on Scorpion is unreal and today i decide to chuck him out of the equation, even though Mick was on him.

I have a large bet on Septimus and he finds just Scorpion too good.

I desperately need All My Loving to be placed in the Oaks now...... and hopefully Dalvina will win!

brockguy 06-01-2007 09:48 AM

full result
Scorpion
Septimus
Maraahel
Rising Cross
Sir Percy
Sixties Icon

Ill go insane if Brittain pulls it off in the Oaks..

Don't need it desparately, but have a small bet down on her, for place, just like you.
