What a Group!

I'm not real sure if this is where this post should go but I just wanted to offer my opinion on something....While I have never had the pleasure of personally meeting any of you in person and I don't play like some of you do, I have had the pleasure of conversing with many of you via the internet or phone calls going back to the old ESPN board. I just finished one of the best reads I've had in a long time and it can be found on this site.....It's the 11 page (and growing) thread about the pick six hit that Scav and Big had yesterday. If anyone has any doubts about the sincerity of the members, all they have to do is read the good lucks, the congrats, and the comments about the get togethers this Summer in that thread and they will quickly realize that this is a special board. Like I said, I don't play as much as you guys but that doesn't mean that the interest isn't there and everyone respects that. No cliques, no judging, just salt of the earth people that have been brought together by the love of the game and Steve's hard work. I could go on and on about how good the people on this board are, but we already know that....I just thought it was really cool to read that entire thread and for once having the story end the way it was supposed to.....

well said.

agreed...I love this site & Steve should be very proud of it!

Scav 05-24-2007 09:47 PM

I really got admit that all the hoopla around here brought alot out of me, in a good way. Funny story. I was at Arlington with my friends this Saturday, and I saw Dellinger. He goes "What's up Scav" and I go talk to him. my friends go, "he called you Scav" and I proceed to tell them about DT. They don't understand what it is about and give me crap. Not a big deal at all. All of the thanks should go to Steve/Bethani/Joey for letting people essentially hang themselves. They keep the peace in a good way, you get plenty of leash to hang yourself, and if anyone tells you differently, tell them to GFT.

The amount of PM's that I recieved was just overwhelming, it was amazing. I feel like I am at the OTB with 140 people that I know everytime that I am on here. Not like a real OTB where there is 140 people that don't say anything to anyone

There isn't a GREATER Horse racing message board out there, and anyone that isn't here, is missing out.

I appreciate all the kind words as I am sure Biggie does, I have been friends with some people on here for 5-6 years and have never met them, and one time I was friends with two people, when they were really the same person (S2S on Youbet's board and now)

Same here my friends mock me about posting on a horse racing board. These guys are into racing. I keep telling them sign up and just try it out. They keep making fun of me about posting on the DT site. I told them I learned a lot on DT from a lot of great posters. Then I told them about you and Bigs hitting the pick 6 and how everyone was so happy about you two hitting it. They told me who cares if they hit it. I told them everybody on DT like to see other people succeed at the races. Congrats again Bigs and Scav. Hoepfully I can meet all the great people on DT at Toga, right now it's 50/50 if I can make it.

my friends have no problem with derby trail because they are fellow dters. My other friends have no problem with derbytrail because they are either totally stoked that i have brilliant and "rich" friends who can hit big bets or else I havent really talked to them about dt cause they care less about horse racing.

Well said,Sam! This is a unique site and its' worth is proven more ever day! Kudos to Steve and the members of DT for making it what it is....informative,passionate,and fun to be part of every day

jpops757 05-25-2007 06:25 AM

There is not a site on the internet that has a passion for its purpose than this one. Most internet sites have a profit agenda regardless of there so called purpose. This site has horseracing as the focal point and if us readers use the info passed out here ,a profit can be had. Kasept is to be commended for creating this site and maintaining it to the degree he does.Without knowing any of you personaly, Steve puts me in a position to know and respect you. For this I am thankful. Good luck to all on you on your trip to the windows and to the DeeTee stables. When the DeTe stables go to the winners circle a lot of us remote fans will be there with you.Agaim ,Steve, thank you.

dellinger63 05-25-2007 08:01 AM

I believe the love of horseracing is the reason this site is what it is. From the hard core bettors to the ones who love it because of the sport's beauty.

Horses are what we all have in common.

The reason the vast majority are pleased with big pic 6 hits is they understand the prep work it takes to construct a ticket and the balls to believe enough in yourself to put up the cash. The ones who would begrudge a big hit are those who sit with losing tickets made up with quick picks and a combination of addresses and birthdays. They just don't understand the game and are the ones yelling 'this race is fixed' or 'that jock's a bum' because of course that's the only way they can be beat out of their quick pick numbers.

I've said before I've met many on the board in person and have never been disappointed. I look foward to meeting more this w/e at Sumwon's race, more at the Belmont and can't wait for Saratoga. Hell I gave up politics for the respect I have for DT members and the fear of offending anyone on this board. LOL

I lost as soon as I told him to toss the washed out, 'shampoo' horse. Good thing he used him and he won for fun. :o
