Street Sense Theory

Okay, hats off to Curlin. But what I think we may have here is a situation with Street Sense. The question was whether or not he could win without a rail trip, and even though he lost by a bob, I think it points something out that is apparent in 3 of his losses. In the Kentucky Breeders Futurity, the Blue Grass and now the Preakness, when Street Sensehas made his move at the lead, three paths or more out, he has acted a little immature. Gawking, not changing leads, etc. In all three races he hung. It could be the way he was brought up as a baby. All horses are creatues of certain idiosyncrasies. Maybe moving on the rail, he doesn't play around.

Just my theory in watching those three races 100 times in the last hour.

Toss the Blue Grass, that was a very strange race. I also do not believe that he was totally tuned up for that race. He lost by a head today to a very good horse. SS made a big move today away from the rail, but he just got caught. I believe that he proved that he is not a railbird today.
