Curlin's my offical top pick

I'm probably not going to have a win bet on any horse in the Preakness---but, if I do decide to make one, it would be on Curlin...if he's better than 4/1.

Like I said though, no self-respecting bettor could possibly play Street Sense off the kind of trips he's built his mighty repute with.

My entire betting strategy focuses on my steadfast opinion that Street Sense hangs through the final 1/8th, and finishes underneath, and that only another act-of-god trip prevents that from happening.

I have long distained Circular Quay---Hard Spun and Curlin are the two remaining horses in the race who aren't complete and utter dog biscuits.

So, for the record, it's Curlin for me---but, from a betting standpoint, I will try to lock up 8/1 odds on a Curlin/HS over SS exacta.

I think he hangs after everyone else is done running

I bet Any Given Saturday....had he run 3rd or better, I'd have had the super, as the top three finishers were all horses I had on all my exotics.....but yeah, I lost on the Derby and didn't have a very good opinion on AGS.

Like he did in the Derby?

Drugs, agree with you and I am still on board with Curlin here as I was before the Derby. Street Sense will not be worth the price, and I believe Curlin is good enough to do it and will likely be a good value.

King Glorious 05-17-2007 10:18 PM

My official selections:
1. Curlin
2. Circular Quay
3. Flying First Class
4. Street Sense
5. Hard Spun

Hey man....don't be stealing the line I swiped from PG1985.

Actually though, I think I said I'll never post on another internet board again. Most people don't know this---but I got mucho "board cred" on most knitting for the homeless message boards.

Wonder what are the chances u would be true to your word if it happens? Probably less than FFC finishing in front of those two.

you're kidding right? you think dahoss said that in a serious vein?

I can finally breath easier now knowing KG's "official" picks. I practically couldn't sleep last night wondering if he would actually put FCC on top.

Why does suddenly everyone have to label their picks as official?
I mean I don't even think people like Crist or Beyer say things like that,
"here are my official picks". What, as opposed to all their unofficial picks floating around?

I'll take my chances with SS

I think it's a pretty safe bet we'll be seeing DaHoss here on Sunday as there is virtually no chance both Street Sense AND Hard Spun finish behind Flying First Class. Zero.

I'm also going with zero chance, DaHoss is safe.

And his official stitch on those boards is "purlin."

Get it? Purlin! Um... purlin... you know... Purlin- Curlin- it's... the purl is a knitting stitch and... (tap tap) is this thing on? Hello? Hello?
