Veronica Mars officially cancelled

I've been predicting this for months but now it's official, this coming Tuesday's double episode will end the third season and the show. It's a shame cause it really was a good show but the CW had expressed little interest in keeping it alive despite different ideas from Rob Thomas.
Brighter news for folks like me, The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up by Fox for the fall, the Terminator-based show includes Summer Glau as Cammeron, the good terminator.
Also, CBS has picked up a show called Moonlight...it's about a vampire seeking redemption who dresses in a black trench coat and works as a Private Investigator....humm, sounds familiar. Now if they give him a girlfriend with super powers who slays vampires, a sexy friend who kicks butt and a Brit who evolves from a clown into a real bad-ass, or maybe even a platinum-blonde rival who like him has a soul....

The CW is a screwed up network. They renew the Pussycat Dolls and One Tree Hill and cancel Veronica Mars? The higher ups are a bunch of friggen IDIOTS!

It's all about ratings...they are adding shows about a farmer who gets to choose between 10 city girls and a bunch of other demeaning stuff. VM just never generated the ratings...people complain about lack of quality on TV but shows that actually have smart writing, character development and stuff that actually makes one think are always short-lived. As with anything, we get what we deserve...Pussycat Dolls and America's Next Top Mindless Ditz.
I doubt Buffy would survive on TV today, we should be thankful that a quality show got 7 years...shows like Wonderfalls, Dark Angel, Forever Knight, and so many more were shortchanged. Frankly, I'm surprised that a show like Bones is doing so well but even that pales in popularity to the mindless procedurals of CSI. Criminal Minds is a hit but The Inside failed. The Wedding Bells was genuinely funny...and quickly gone. Drive wasn't on long enough to get a feel for it and of course, there is Firefly!

Somer, I'm sorry for your loss.

LOL...I was resigned to VM's fate, saw it coming mid-season, at least it lasted 3 years, Drive lasted 2 weeks. TV is amazing today, networks are so quick to pull the plug that many folks refuse to watch new shows until they get renewed...which of course leads to lower ratings and even more cancellations. At least LifeTime has supported Blood Ties, I suspect it would have disappeared by now on Fox or the CW.
