Prednisone

I've been having an allergic reaction to something and the doc put me on this stuff. It's making me crazy. Just started the taper today and i'm in quite a mood. I could smash this desk in half right now.

Yo Pillow, I also was on those when I ate too much guacomole one NFL sunday and I got massive hives because of it. It works, hives went away in a couple days. I am now allergic to guacomle, more importantly, the preservative they use....not common.

I did the allergy test with different types of food and nothing triggered it. Kinda worried about the whole cancer deal but chances are it's no big deal and hopefully it goes away.

Cancer?

Is that what your doctor said that an allergic reaction could mean cancer?

did you get hives or what?

He said that 4 patients of his who had hives were diagnosed with cancer. That's in the past 16 years. Probably not a big deal but I wish he wouldn't have told me.

Said that about 80% of these cases are cured by prednisone and generic claritin and the cause of the outbreak is never found.

That is exactly what I got, allegra and prednisone.

he should have never mentioned that cancer to you

they also said that stress and anixety can cause something like that.

Try finding a xanax, you'll be fine

prednisone is the devil. I have to take it every day of my life. When I had a big UC attack last year, they had me on 100 mg, then 80, 60, 40 for a few weeks and tapered down to the 7.5 I take daily. When I was on the 100 and 80 I gained 10 pounds in two days without having one bite of food. So not fair... gained a lot more weight from it in the following two weeks. Sucks, but I guess I'd rather be fat than dead.
