NYRA Internet Wagering

Anyone use this today? What was it like?

I have a NYRA Rewards account but can't find where you can wager on-line.

I called NYRA and they said it was not available yet. Hopefully in a couple of days. He said they would post it on NYRA.com when available.

Thanks. I have a BrisBet account and they no longer take NY. Not surprised that it was not ready on the day they said it would be.

Youbet takes NY tracks, I have had an account with them for years and they are very good but they don't take CDI or MEC tracks so I opened an NYRA account last week so I could bet Churchill.

OTBs, casinos, phone accounts for OTB, lottery, etc is all available in CT but Blumenthal wants to stop this?? I guess he has nothing better to do.

Does Youbet allow a link to a checking acocunt to wire money back and forth for funding?

Yes.

The deposits are instantaneous and the withdrawls take 2-3 business days.

I use Youbet and live in CT. I fund it through a Citibank checking account. This whole thing doesn't make any sense to me.

CT has some pretty stupid laws. You cannot buy a scalped ticket on eBay or any other online service at more that the face value of the ticket plus handling charges if the event is in the state of CT and you and/or the seller is a resident of CT. Crazy.

I live in CT and use Winticket (AmericaTab). I wanted to set up an account with NYRA since Winticket had to drop the TVG tracks. Thanks Blumenthal for protecting me! I can drive to a casino or an OTB, that's fine, but not the internet?

He claims that he's protecting children and compulsive gamblers. What a guy.

I received a fat legal letter from Nyra for my one account explaining the ramifications of their bankruptcy. Hard to make heads or tails out of it with all the legalese. Bottom line, is the money in our account safe there(when,if) they go under? Should we withdraw the majority of it?

mes5107 05-04-2007 07:22 AM

Looks like NYRA is available again on AmericaTab for wagering. That was fast. Anybody know the specifics?

JBJake 05-04-2007 10:08 AM

I'm surprised AmericaTab did not send an e-mail. It looks like you might be able to bet Hollywood over the Net too. Yesterday the announcement was by phone only.

NYRA Internet Wagering Update

NYRA Internet Wagering Update Thursday May 10, 2007
NYRA Press Staff | May 510, 2007

The Wagering World is yours
Register Today!

The launch of NYRA Rewards Internet wagering has been delayed due to the discovery of a few technical issues during the final stage of live testing. Fortunately, the identified issues are minor and correctable; NYRA will officially release its online wagering application once these problems have been completely resolved without recurrence.

In the meantime, off-track NYRA Rewards members can continue to wager on all NYRA and simulcast races by telephone, using NYRA TELEBET at 1-800-THE-NYRA.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our patrons and we thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and patience during what we anticipate to be a brief, but critically important transitional period for our online, advance deposit wagering [ADW] platform.

Good old NYRA spin as usual.

NYRA...where some horses finish first, but the customers are always last!

NYRA Internet Wagering Is Here!

The New York Racing Association is pleased to announce the official release of its Internet wagering application. Online wagering is available only to New York state residents who have established either a NYRA Rewards or a NYRA One account. NYRA Rewards offers a cash-back incentive based on an individual’s wagering activity.

Members are able to earn cash rewards whether they wager on-track at self-service terminals or off-track either by telephone, using NYRA TELEBET, or via the Internet at NYRA.com.

NYRA Rewards is one of the most inclusive and accessible advance deposit wagering [ADW] programs in the country because it is open for wagering seven [7] days a week, does not require customers to maintain a minimum balance or charge any wagering transaction fees.

The program is significant and unique because it offers its members a full simulcast menu that includes all Magna/Churchill tracks as well as those racetrack signals exclusive to TVG.

For more information about the NYRA Rewards program and its new Internet wagering feature, visit www.nyra.com or call 1-800-THE-NYRA.
