I Hate Kent D.

I swear it is a good thing I was not @ Kee. I would of been in the paddock after the 3rd. and 5th. race when he stood up on those mounts. Esp. in the 3rd. let's just say him or i would've of gotten an ass whoppin'.

timmgirvan 04-26-2007 06:49 PM

For a jockey with his experience...it is inexcusable!

Getaway 04-26-2007 06:51 PM

Now that was funny...he obviously misjudged where the line was, but it is still not excusable. What a joke!

I saw the 3rd race. Did he do the same thing in the 5th?

ask him if he was having kotashaan flashbacks.

not only did he do it on kotashaan in japan, i seem to recall he did that once in a south american race as well.

he's really not a very bright man

timmgirvan 04-26-2007 07:55 PM

I think he did it on Real Quiet also, didn't he?

fpsoxfan 04-26-2007 08:07 PM

Where can I see the replay?? I'd like to see the race.

Bobby Fischer 04-26-2007 08:08 PM

and then the a-hole wins the feature , (which he had no business winning),by running a closer near the pace.

fpsoxfan 04-26-2007 08:41 PM

Found it....WOW....very strange...I usually stick up for the guy too,

I had $ across on Kent's mount in the third today at KEE. He definitely cost me the win price (7-1). I not sure if he misjudged the wire. I think E. T. stood up on K. Macs horse first, (1st time starter) thinking he could'nt get there for the win. Then Kent D. thinking he was home free stood up about 60 yards from the wire. E.T.'s horse then proceeded to out gallop Kent to the wire by a nose. If I owned that horse Kent D. would'nt be gettin Paid!!!

It kinda reminded me of the world series game ('72 i think) when the A's gave the impression that they were going to go ahead and intentionally walk Johnny Bench. After running the count to 3 balls and 2 strikes the catcher stood up and put out his right arm and the pitcher for the A's proceeded to gut the plate with the next pitch catching Bench off guard and striking him out. I'm a big Reds fan, but I have to admit it was funny after the shock wore off.

I could not agree more -- Kent couldn't have pulled up like that thinking he had it in the bag. That was far more pulled up than a confident hand ride to the wire that we would see if a jock thought he had it in the bag.

ps, from the Keeneland website:

Kent Desormeaux (winning rider):

On misjudging the finish in the third race and finishing second:

“I’d have to be retarded not to apologize to the fans. I messed up. I chose the wrong (finish) line to stand up at. I’m so apologetic to the fans, but this kind of eases the pain a little bit.”

Am I wrong in thinking that outside of the mistake, Trujillo had him anyway -- that Elvis had the better horse today but that Kent should have capitalized on that mistake?

Doesn't Keeneland still put up the big red circle (looks like a Bulls-eye). on a post left of finish line to show what finish line is in use for that race. Or these two goofs are color blind to the color of red.

Scav 04-26-2007 09:59 PM

So many people trying to diss my guy...

How many times have you heard a jock apologize for a ride TO THE PUBLIC???

How about 1 out of 100. **** happens, which is why it is gambling, and not considering investing. It is like when the dealer is showing a 6 and goes and pulls 21 on your ass, **** happens

LONG LIVE KENT DESORMEAUX
