randallscott35 04-07-2007 04:37 PM

Jerry you are swallowing 3/4 on this horse?

Seattleallstar 04-07-2007 04:39 PM

nope I haven't bet at all, TVG only has Keenland and Aqueduct to bet. Plus the gas station ran out of racing forms, its worked out for the best I didnt play today.

hoovesupsideyourhead 04-07-2007 04:42 PM

He wasn't running today. The 4/5 crowd on that horse needs their head examined.

i dont see what your saying ? anyone can say a horse wasn't running with the start he had, he was done after the start, he is a far better horse then that and with a clean break he wins today

randallscott35 04-07-2007 04:55 PM

Joe, he has never run close to as fast as Magna Graduate has. Never. To say he would beat him 80% of the time is ludicrous.

Betsy 04-07-2007 04:55 PM

The horse lost the race at the start - he hopped and lost at least 7-8 lengths. He'd have to have been a superhorse to have overcome that - Tom Durkin called it accurately - it was just disastrous. I don't think Corinthian should be judged at all by this race; that would be unfair.

i agree with you 8/10 is crazy, i will change it

I hate when convenient excuses cloud the real results. Fact is that Corinthian had a bad start. A horrible start. But down the backstretch, he had passed Evening Attire and was right on Magna Graduate's flank on the turn. He was in good position and had nothing left. I know some will say he used up too much to get into contention in the first place. Maybe so but from my perspective, if he was good enough, he probably wasn't going to beat the winner but second or third should have been where he finished.

Danzig 04-07-2007 05:18 PM

i think a bad start can be overused as an excuse.

ok i think you are way off, i dont think many horse's could over come the start he had, it was a horrible start he lost 7-9 lenghts, its not like it was a minor stumble, it was a disaster.

randallscott35 04-07-2007 05:20 PM

I concede that he wasn't winning after that start....But Pointgiven you are somehow assuming had the start been perfect he would've won which is a reach at best. Fact is, he isn't the soundest horse and he shouldn't have won his last start either. And he takes money like I can't believe in every race.

I disagree on this - I can see if it was just a stumble or something relatively minor. However, Corinthian not only hopped in the air and lost many lengths, but he also almost went to his knees. Javier obviously wasn't going to perservere once the race was out of hand -expecting Corinthian to put in a sustained run, enough to pass by other horses, after that really dreadful beginning, is asking a lot. I just hope he came out of the race ok.

Yes it can, but did you see the start? This is not one of those cases.
