Nobiz Like Showbiz

Yes.....
impressed with sightseeing, seems like he finally put it together.

randallscott35 04-07-2007 03:51 PM

In spite of the strangle job by Cornelio.

Nobiz is a huge talent but its still not finished. He is tugging so hard. I agree with Bailey. Somehow he has got to learn how to relax. Get a good position, and then relax without trying to pull the jockey over his head. This animal is super strong, holy cow.

Good job by the horse. This is what I have been waiting for from this horse. Cornelio did the best he could with the horse. He wont be able to do that with No Biz come Derby day. But blinkers will have that effect on a horse. But he saved ground, pulled him back and had plenty left to leave AGS in the dust and to hold off a charging Sightseek. Good job and congrats.

horse was carrying cornie, pg1985, blinkers, cotton balls, cannon and STILL WON!!

It was a nice race for him. He's always run reasonably well. His figs are very similar for his entire career. I don't know what to think....I think he's an underlay for the Derby but obviously that doesn't mean he can't win.

Just glad the Pletcher horse didn't win. I have both Nobiz and AGS in my RTTR stable, but went with O'Neill instead of Pletcher for my 'numbers' trainer.

If they were going a mile and a quarter today,Sightseeing would have beat him.:D

tycharles01 04-07-2007 04:03 PM

Well at least people will be putting alot of cash on him in the Derby.

Corny better get on that horses back more often, he looked terrible on him

Dont think so. The hold would have been tighter. And its questionable even with another furlong if he would have gotten him anyway. Cornelus had him throttled down at the very end.

I think he moves to soon in the Derby for sure. He'll be right off the lead turning for home with a false lead. Everyone will be jumping and yelling for about 3 seconds then the the top 3 finishers will blow by him at the 1/8 pole. Just my thoughts and believe you me I've been wrong before.

No I think you got it. The horse has to settle and get comfy. He will be eaten up if he runs like that, no doubt in my mind. But not by Sightseek. Can anybody honestly say they saw a horse in control. I saw a horse pulling to the lead, poor Corny was back in his stirrups trying to hold him back with the good start, and Nobiz never relaxed UNTIL he got tired. The good thing about that run is he kept to task. But he was tired.

i disagree, i will be betting him on derby day i said it along time ago i think this years derby will be chalky.......nobiz,street sense, great hunter and hard spun..... no pletcher horse makes the triple

Danzig 04-07-2007 04:29 PM

pletcher will have enough in the field that i wouldn't go out on a limb and say he fails to hit the board. altho he has a full hand, i don't know that he'll win it--i don't like the CQ plan, and altho i understood, and still understand, AGS running back a week earlier in the wood today rather then the bluegrass, long term i don't like the change in his schedule. did he finish third today by choice, or was that all he had left?

ateamstupid 04-07-2007 05:00 PM

The figure probably won't be very fast, and the last eighth was pretty slow. I've been a Nobiz fan since the Champagne, but he's still goofy, and it's concerning in my opinion. What I don't understand is why Tagg doesn't put a full-cup blinker on the horse's right side, because every race, it's the same story: Nobiz hits midstretch and starts gazing at the Grandstand and gets focused too late. The regular blinks aren't going to stop that, and if anything, they're going to make him less relaxed earlier in the race.

I love the colt, but I wasn't terribly impressed by anything from him today other than him gamely holding Sightseeing at bay.

Cannon Shell 04-07-2007 07:38 PM

He want to be a front runner, plain to see

blackthroatedwind 04-07-2007 07:39 PM

He ran 1 1/2 seconds slower than Magna Graduate.
