Keeneland opening weekend - cold, wet

For those coming to Keeneland's opening weekend, prediction is temps in the low 20's at night, and only in the lower 40's during the day, with clouds, probable some rain. Saturday should be the best day (only cloudy and cold).

Benevolus 04-03-2007 11:33 AM

It is going to get very cold in Kentucky for about 5 days. Lexington is even colder than Louisville usually. Let's see how Keeneland's polytrack holds up.

Cold and wet? Pass.

I will be inside upstairs Friday....and outside downstairs on Sat.....enjoying every second no matter what the weather. They now say limited rain....I can deal with partly cloudy and in the 50's no problem. Although, I much prefer the later weeks when it warms up....both the sun and ladies are out.

Thunder and lightning and high winds tonight in Lexington. The warm air mass being replaced by the cold air coming in from the west. Tornado weather.

Thank you Grits....are you gonna make any days this meet? Would like to buy you a beer. Also, you got a bad wrap on that thread....I wanted to jump in and tell them they had you all wrong...but it was not worth the time. Anyway, lets post some winners together this weekend....sound good?

Nope... she knows her stuff about racing and that's what counts. No hard feelings here.

Sounds good, indeed. And if I decide to point westward, after this weekend, I'll message you. I love the place, I really do.

You buy one, and I'll buy one, that works . . .

Cajun.....I agree that it was not the right thing to say, I agree with that. But I know that I, and I bet you, have said things that at the moment might seem funny but after further thought you wish you could take it back. When addressing racism it is appropriate to call that person out, but it is not appropriate to attack. And some of that happend, not by you....but by others. You bring up that it is not a proper way to address someone but by attacking it puts that person on defense mode and then the real issue gets lost. I am not sure if this is making sense, but I guess I am trying to say I agree with you but I also think it was a bit harsh on Grits.
