Who is Spot?

paisjpq 03-27-2007 01:06 PM

isn't the real question why the guys at horse photos wanted to go shoot it? strange IMO. And it looks like spot is going to need a bigger shield...he barely fits in the one he's wearning.

Must be a teaser stallion. He's cute. (Although obviously a leopard appy and not a thoroughbred, lol.)

Huh?

Please don't tell me next that all Spot gets for his efforts is a cold shower.

yup...you can barely see it but he is wearing an apron covering his belly that prevents any actual contact with the mare...
when mares arrive at the breeding shed he visits them all...mostly just over a wall to make sure they are in heat...he gets to jump maidens (meaning he's the one who might get kicked)...
if he is lucky the farm will have some nursemares on it and he gets to breed those since the must be sent home in foal for next season.

Well, I certainly hope Spot's story has a nice ending. Alll this is like good bratwurst. Tastes great, but don't really care to know how it gets to the market.

The ultimate cock block for this poor guy.

Years ago at the barn where I was working, there was a black Arab stallion in the barn that was used as the teaser. He was so good natured, but he never got to enjoy the entire thing. He was a big favorite in the barn. One day, a client had a mare she wanted to cross with this horse, primarily because he was black and everyone was excited that the horse was going to actually do the deal.
I was holding the mare throughout and after he finished, I looked up at his face and there was a totally glazed look in his eyes. The lights were on, but no one was home type of thing. I told the vet, who was handling the stallion that the horse wasn't with us and sure enough, the horse started sliding off to the right side of the mare. He had passed out. He hit the ground, which was soft because it was all sand and wasn't out long. He came to almost immediately, but that horse's back legs were wobbling so badly as he went back to the barn. Zapped him out, big time, but he was fine.

Thanks for the pictures of Happy Ticket. She was always my favorite. :)

I believe I have met Spot when we visited Tiznow and Distorted Humor. They had him back in the back of the stallion barn in a stall and he was a little short stout looking thing. Pretty nice acting type of horse.

Funny to see him in action.
