Try changing your title to 'Keeneland April'. I don't think 'Anyone' is going to draw too many people in unless they are really bored like me.

This is opening weekend, and this late, you will have a truly difficult time as the boxes are all owned by various folks within the industry, in and around Lexington. Your seats in the boxes, more often, come through courtesy of friends, trainers, etc.

Grandstand seating is excellent at Keeneland also. Over the years, I've done both.

SB....you can call the Keeneland office and ask to be placed on a waiting list for a box for those days. Keeneland is trying very hard to accomodate fans for the boxes as many of the owners of the boxes are getting older and use them much less frequently. These people are also Clubhouse members and if the weather is even a little bit cold or nasty they are inside, not in the box. The key is do the owners of the box call to turn the tickets in!! Keeneland promotes this to box owners as a means to get a few dollars back at the end of the race meet for the days they don't attend. I think the box seats are $10 weekdays and $12 weekends....so total depends on the box as KEE has both 6 and 8 person boxes. While this may not be the best answer, you can still give it a try. They will notify you by about 11 race day weather you have a box for that day or not. Hope this helps.

This is an excellent idea on Keeneland's part, though weekends are still difficult in all liklihood. The boxes are empty for a good part of the afternoon, until the feature race, when patrons come pouring out of the clubhouse.

Hang out in the Sports Bar, then go head out back about 10 minutes before the race goes off, you'll have the best seat in the house...
