Liquidity

Will he run in the Louisana Derby or not? Is ONeill not sure about this guy? I thought his two second place runs were very good.

Huh? He's entered in the Louisiana Derby and will go to the Santa Anita Derby after. O'Neill seems pretty confident in Notional, GH, and Liquidity and is taking turns shipping them out of CA.

I thought I read somewhere that they might pull out. I will check my meanderings on the web.

After Great Hunter won the Bob Lewis they interviewed Reddam who said that Great Hunter wouldn't be running in the SA Derby because Liquidity would assuming all went well in the Louisiana Derby. I haven't heard anything else so am not sure if they are considering scratching him. He's going to get crushed by Ketchikan either way but might be able to cash a nice check running 2nd or 3rd.

LIQUIDITY (Trainer Doug O'Neill, Jockey Corey Nakatani) Scheduled to run in the Louisiana Derby this Saturday. Dropped out:

Now this may mean he dropped out of some Top 10 poll. But then I read he ran unimmpressivley in a workout on Saturday and ONeill said something questioning his competitiveness.

Well then you got better info than I do if you heard the owner say this. I think that quote I got was dropping out of a top 10 list.

Is he a headcase? Maybe he didn't feel like running that day and decided to let everybody know it in grand fashion.

Not at all looking to get into a huge debate, but I love Liquidity's chances not only in Louisiana but at Churchill also. He is a horse I am keeping an eye on as I feel he is going to be a force this season. Glad I got him in first Future Book

He tanked big time the one time he left California so this race will tell a lot. Considering O'Neill already has one horse that can't run a step when he leaves the state I'll be playing against Liquidity until he proves he can run outside of Cali.

Good point, but wasnt it right after his maiden breaker? Think or at least hope is he has matured a bit. LA Derby will tell alot.
As far as O'Neill shipping out of town dont forget Notional

He's been my derby pick as well. Gotta see a bit more from him on Saturday, though.

and Thor's Echo and Great Hunter. He certainly has horses that ship just fine. In this case the horse already has a bad race outside of the state and considering there is another horse in his barn with that problem I'm not going to give the horse the benefit of the doubt until he proves it. It might be different if he looked much the best here but that isn't the case at all.

So because Lava Man does not ship well that would mean you would assume that Liquidity will not as well? When you yourself stated added two other O'Neill horses that have shipped and run well, while I was just using Notional as an example of an O'Neill 3YO this year who has shipped and won. Like I said earlier not looking to get into a debate because makes no sense. Just have to sit back and wait for LA Derby to give a better idea of Liquidity's future which I will maintain is bright

He ran absolutely dreadful in his one start out of California. Even if he runs to his Cali form I think there are other horses as good as him or better and since I think there is a chance he won't run to his Cali form I consider him a total play against. Obviously I could get burnt and will probably play him underneath to be safe but I will certainly be playing against him to win.
