i loved watching megahertz ! let's hope her babies are that fun to watch!

I know Megahurtz never won an eclipse, but, out of curiousity....

Over the last 25 years, how many of these champion 2-year-old fillies or champion filly and mares have dropped a champion in the breeding shed?

The only one I can think of was Inside Information (perhaps the most naturally talented filly I've ever seen)

And the champion she dropped (Smuggler) has to rate as one of the all-time worst to ever win that award. As much a fan of II that I was, and as much as I loved the name Smuggler---I have to admit, Smuggler was a complete dog biscuit with modest talent...if she had any at all

All the years I can remember looking at these message boards, theres always people who make a big deal when a top filly or racemare has had a new foal----and, the vast majority of the time, these horses couldn't outrun me.

DrugS intentially said 25 years so you couldn't include her.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-28-2007 11:30 AM

That would be correct.

Although, Glorious Song was a champion 27 years ago.

What's very interesting about Singspeil, is that he is the only horse to ever win an Eclipse Award without ever having made a single start in the USA.

Yeah.. figures.

Not a Champion, but close.. War Chant out of Hollywood Wildcat.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-28-2007 11:39 AM

Storm Flag Flying out of My Flag was also close.

And after SFF---you had to hear about that miserable Leading the Parade weekly on the boards---until he had finally proven to everyone he was a bum

Antitrust32 02-28-2007 11:46 AM

how bout Flanders.. didnt she have Surfside?

Antitrust32 02-28-2007 11:52 AM

Flanders was a Champion 2yo and Surfside was Champion 3yo all in the last 25 years! (according to pedigreequery)

What do I win?

You want to talk turf breeding, wait until the foal arrives from Kingmambo / Ouija Board.

I believe I read somewhere that she would be heading in his direction.

Where is Intercontinental? Who has she been bred to?

Answered my own question... Produced a filly by Empire Maker on 2/13/06.

Empire Maker will end up becoming the one of the best American turf sires out there. I guarantee he will throw a couple Arlington Million winners
