Discreet Cat draws post 9 of 16 in Dubai on Thursday!

:) :D Discreet Cat has drawn post 9 of 16 in race #6 at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai Thursday night here, 12:15pm in New York. Race 6 is 1600meters or 1 mile (8f) on the dirt. He will carry 61kg 134.49lbs, and will be ridden by Frankie Dettori. It is a great card of racing to wager on! Free pp's and all race declarations at: www.emiratesracing.com
clear and 73 degrees here, great for racing. Any thoughts?

134# this does sound like a hdcp race.

Weights carried in Dubai are generally higher than those in the US. Looks like a great card. I'll be looking over the pp's a bit later and will post some ideas.

Capital OTB viewers will be able to see all the races from Dubai (the first 5 live, the rest replayed) tomorrow on OTB-TV.

Do you know if NYC-OTB will show them and if so what time do they begin?

smuthg 02-27-2007 10:32 AM

Do any of you know if TVG is carrying any of the Dubai races? how about Youbet or Xpressbet?

ArlJim78 02-27-2007 10:39 AM

The Dubai races are carried by Brisbet, live feed and wagering.

Unfortunately, the great state of Missouri prohibits its residents from signing up with them. For some reason Xpressbet is the only site that i have found that will let me register...

Linny 02-27-2007 11:04 AM

BTW, I don't know for sure but generally Capital and NYC offer the same options as far as betting. A friend of mine watched last Friday's Dubai races in a NYCOTB branch, so I know they are taking them. Not sure if they'll be on the air.

blackthroatedwind 02-27-2007 11:06 AM

Thanks. I just realized I have to leave early anyway on Thursday so I guess it won't matter for me.

Races in Dubai are meaningless. It's like professional wrestling.

funny because brisbet is so far the only place i've found that will let me sign up living in michigan!

i don't get it, why is it so confusing...shouldn't it either be legal or not?

I don't know about that. Discreet Cat, Invasor, Premium Tap, I wouldn't call them exactly meaningless. Plus all of the other Europeans and South American horses. ITs actually fairly solid racing.

I think that maybe the BRZ horses will do some danger that day, not in the case of DISCREET, there, Nelora Pora can do some honest effort. Came latter I will check the PP.

Heck, that's almost as much weight as the most Man O' War ever carried...and the 15 horses he's facing is about as many horses as Man O' War beat in his entire 3-year-old season.

There are a few South American Group 1 winners in that race, who already have Group Stakes wins over this track. This is no cupcake spot.

The only real concern I see is that fact that Godolphin is 0-for-29 there, with 22 of the losers either the favorite or 2nd favorite in the betting. That is out and out bizarre. This is the same stable that won almost 50% of the races they entered in America last year. Running 1-2 in a couple.

I guess their are rumors starting that the emerging super trainer Ismail Mohammed might take Saeed bin Suroor's job in the not to distant future. It would probably not be good for racing to see Suroor, a former police officer, who many consider highly ethical, to be replaced by a guy who all of a sudden looks like the Dutrow of Dubai.

OK, we heard you about Godolphin being on an ofer. We understand this is your built in excuse should the unthinkable happen.

Impossible Ski is the best chance for South Americans to do something

Alysia in the sprint would be dangerous

I'm not so sure you can dismiss anything that this man sends out though.

As he's been terrorizing the trainer standings in Dubai all winter long. And his entrant in the race, Imperialista scored a 25/1 upset win, beating Impossible Sky in round 1 of the Maktoum challenge.

Mohammed was just 2-for-66 (and 21% In the money) at the Dubai meet, over this decade. This year, He's 12-for-63 and 43% in the money.

You know I'm having a little fun with it.

But you also know such things can be valid. When Ghostzapper lost in the King's Bishop, to a pair of very inferior horses, Bobby Frankel's barn was similarly ice cold--and could not buy a win for a stretch of time.
