Surf Cat

Appeared ready to tackle the big bo.ys ,but was sat down. Has anyone heard anything this year. This guy was a serious threat anywhere6f-1 1/2.

1 1/2 ? are you assuming he can go that long? hes been injured on and off his whole career, talented horse lots of problems

I felt if sound this is the one horse that could have been a threat to Lava Man or even The Tin Man on the turf. When he started his run he was the quickest of all. Like you said lots of problem. I was wondering if there is any hope of him returning? Maybe Im giving this horse too much credit for his limited running but he looked like a chalanger to the Arab Monsters.

Surf Cat is one horse I love to watch run.
He covers so much ground so effortlessly.
I think one of his last races (last summer, perhaps?) he looked totally disinterested for the first 1/2 of the race, then when he decided to run, he just walked by the entire field.
Too bad he has health issues.

lemon...that was the Mervyn Leroy....one incredible race...the turn of foot and burst of speed was mind boggling. When he made up his mind he was ready to run....that was all she wrote...

This is one hell of a horse. I don't know if he's at the level of Discreet Cat but I feel that when he's at his best, that might be the only horse in the world better than him. That same thing he did at Hollywood, he did in a sprint at SA in the winter. Unbelievable talents in this one.

Unless he runs on turf...he ain't going that long!! There aren't any dirt races that long anymore beyond age 3.
