For Blackthroat & Big Brown (104 BSF) fans

In response to your question about when big brown is going to run. I just spoke to Mr. Iavarone and he has informed me the BB was entered today for WED at GP with an eye at the Bluegrass next...

blackthroatedwind 03-01-2008 09:52 AM

I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope he runs eventually. He could be a very nice horse. I wish them the best of luck.

CAn you make another call? I am dying to know what is on Samba Rooster's schedule.

blackthroatedwind 03-01-2008 10:04 AM

At the very least, on what's a boring day of racing in the East, I now at least have something to look forward to.....searching the entries a third time to see if I somehow missed the name Big Brown.

On a slight tangent.......when name dropping in the future, try to pick one that someone has heard of. No disrespect, of course, to the name you dropped......but he's hardly a household name. I think even he would agree.

mp3 03-01-2008 10:31 AM

you have never heard of him??? come on buddy

blackthroatedwind 03-01-2008 10:34 AM

I know a lot of names around the racetrack, and other places, but that doesn't make them household names. Now, I have never heard of this person, other than you mentioning him, but that wasn't my point anyway.

Based on your previous comments here that's probably not who you speak to anyway.

Heard of who? Big Brown?

Danzig 03-01-2008 12:05 PM

i've heard of him, but seen a lot more mention of him here than in any entries/results.

Il Girasole is a nice horse. He hasn't run since his debut, I think at toga, but he won that race over the formerly mighty adriano.

If he's actually a nice horse you can't tell it from his debut.

i'm not saying he's a superstar or anything, but he ran gamely and looked like a capable horse. i wouldnt be shocked by him winning.

ShadowRoll 03-04-2008 03:28 PM

BB is the ML favorite at 5/2, if you don't count MTO entry Crimson Comic. With that fast 5 f work only a few days ago, BB might be a bet against...if he doesn't scratch. Could be a nice payout on the exotics if BB runs out of the money.

blackthroatedwind 03-04-2008 03:33 PM

I recommend watching the replays of both starts Deputiformer made on the turf at Woodbine. I think he might be OK.

The bottom line is that Big Brown might be an exceptional turf horse. Obviously he has issues, but he may be too much horse for these, but he also won't be anywhere close to 5:2. I'll bet against him at his likely 4:5....but I'll also probably lose.

KY_Sasquash 03-04-2008 04:29 PM

Sailor's Cap was rushed into a wicked pace in his last. Toner regroups and gets Prado to ride. I look for him to run a much better race than what he showed in his last.

The Bid 03-04-2008 04:43 PM

Sailors Cap should gallop
