BCBC Bets

Last year there was a file posted of what everyone had
bet, I found it interesting. Does anyone know if that will be available
again?
Thank you

Did Dick Jerardi forget to bet the classic? Or did the report miss a page

The guy that won the thing was all guts.:tro: Bet 1800 on the Friday card and lost which left him with 5700, I think. Bet almost all that on the 4th race on Saturday and had he lost would have been eliminated. Won Around 22,000 and then later won another race for about 6000 and then in the final race bet the whole wad. Don't think I would have done that. Probably would have deducted the entry fee and bet the rest which is what I think the guy that won last year did, but kudos to the winner.:$::$:

What if you won your way into the contest via feeder or was funded via a syndicate?

Sorry, I am just on the conservative side and it usually costs me, but you are right, maybe a person might be more daring, if they were not losing their own money. Was that the case? Did he enter via syndicate? Seems like I read somewhere that he didn't enter via a feeder. I think I would be even more conservative, if I entered via a syndicate, but less so, if by feeder.

The 2nd place guy had a Penalty Amount: $10,000.00 deducted,

Anyone know what that was for ?

I think that means he didn't play enough races. I think he played 9 and not the required 10. Required to play 3 on Friday and 7 on Saturday. At least that what I got out of it. I think participants are also required to play at least 600 a race(for 10 races). I looked at it and that was the case. He played 3 on Friday and 6 on Saturday.

Hard to know. 600 cost him 10K. Of course had he won with the 600, he would have had more to bet in the last race, but had he lost, then he would have had less and ended up with a smaller total of winnings in that race. Would be interesting to know whether that was a strategy or whether he just lost track or maybe did what I sometimes do and take too long to make up my mind what I want to bet.

Final Score: 145,040.00 =1st place

Final Score: 137,750.00 - $600 add $10,000 penalty back in $147,150
2nd place;)

Not quite as simple as adding it back in. To avoid the 10K penalty, he would have had to play the 600 before the last race leaving him 2100 instead of 2700 to play in the last race(assuming he didn't win with the 600) which would have reduced his final winnings substantially. At least that's the way I see it, but admittedly, I am a math idiot.:zz::D

On the flip side, if he knew he needed just one more race, he could have wagered $600 to show on Bricks and Mortar to meet the requirement and pretty safely kept his bankroll high enough to make the final wager in Race 12.

Then again, it’s easy to second guess people after the fact.

I would think he knew he needed another one, but maybe not. Betting way bigger bets than most folks ever bet. At least the ones that live in my neighborhood.:D Might tend to make one a bit nervous and a little wobble headed.

Fascinating to look through the bets. Kind of feel for the guy who went all in on Decorated Invader. Not only should he have won, Irad rode amazing all weekend except for that race.
