OFFICIAL "Sumwonlovesyou" Thread

Wednesday, April 11, Sumwonlovesyou debuts for Dee Tee Stables and trainer Chuck Simon at Keeneland as the #7 in the 4th race... Jim Graham rides...

Congratulations and thanks to Chuck and the partnership participants, and all members of Derby Trail as well, for making it possible.

I find it hard to believe this really has been pulled off!

pointman 04-07-2007 11:14 AM

Thanks, Steve, that is awesome.

Danzig 04-07-2007 11:18 AM

oh man, this is great. been looking forward to this day since we got her at auction.

thanks so much to chuck, who has so much more invested in this than any of us. thanks to you, steve, as well, for all your time and effort on this undertaking.

good luck to sumwon! it's going to be so exciting to see her on the track, with the jock wearing that blue and lime green!

Great news Steve
Congrats to you and Chuck for making this a reality!

pmacdaddy 04-07-2007 11:39 AM

Great News!

Chuck - Thanks for all your efforts.

Riot 04-07-2007 11:46 AM

Unbelievable - in December the idea is floated, in February Chuck is buying a horse at F-T, and April she's running at Kee .... I hope she runs safe, and just had a good race, rating kindly, and making a good strong move - icing on the cake if she gets some money for Chuck! (geesh, her shipping bills alone ....)

Okay, I want to hear the REAL story of how you guys decided to form this partnership.

Kasept and Hooves are sitting around, eating pie.

Hooves: Let's buy a race horse.
Kasept: Too expensive to buy a race horse.
Hooves: Hey! Derby Trail could buy a race horse!
Kasept: Good idea! That would be fun! Let's call Simon. We'll bribe him with pie!

This race is going to be analyzed in more excruciating detail than any Derby prep on this board :D

Unstable 04-07-2007 11:51 AM

LMAO - Yeah, I can see that happening with Steve and Hooves and the pie-bribing.

I am so psyched about this coming Wednesday that I don't think I'll be able to concentrate on the races this week-end.

Well, maybe not, but I am really, really excited.

8 Nola Star (FL) 3 Filly 118 Larry Melancon

On the analysis front, I can already tell you that the one above is, I believe, a Ken McPeek trainee that was well-regarded at 2.

But she is giving Sumwon three pounds. I am going to look on the upside of things.

Ahhhh, she's the one we saw at Gulfstream that broke poorly first time out but looked good running at the end....at least in terms of the fact that she was motoring home well even if she never threatened.

On the grass could be interesting.

She's broken her maiden on the grass, last out at Tampa, and pretty easily. Glad to see her back here, though I wish she had a better post.

I never put her in my stable mail -- so I didn't know that. Thanks for the info though, I should have realized she broke her maiden somewhere if she was in an allowance, duh.

I was impressed by her first race because she ran on well after tailing off early.

Pretty aggressive spot for new barn/owners........Good Luck
