NBA Finals Lakers vs. Celtics

Just like the old days.

Celtics got me stressed. They are on another level right now.

I wonder if they will have Kobe guard Rondo. Its either that or they will have to give farmar and brown some pretty significant minutes.

the celtics are playing some really good interior defense right now. Oddly enough, it would seem the Lakers would want to force tempo against them. Pau Gasoft and Bynum won't want to go low. It would seem the lakers would be better served by taking bynum out of the equation more and forcing Garnett to have to match up on Odom and forcing Perkins/davis to have to guard Pau in the high post. On the perimeter, this would leave Pierce and Allen to guard Bryant and Artest straight up. I think the lakers really like those matchups.

The celtics are really surprising. They look like the best team in the league right now. I had passed them off for dead.

Lakers 4-2

Celtics are on another level right now, pretty accurate CP. Everyone picked the Lakers two years ago too. LAL will lose if Rondo plays like this. He's the best player in the playoffs. It's not even close.

We have Perk, who's a goddamn monster, Sheed, Baby, KG and Shel on the frontline. Lakers haven't faced a frontline like that. Two years ago all we needed was Perk, KG and PJ. Dunzo Kobe. We ain't the Magic.

Gasol is a gash. KG and Perk will expose him. Same with Odom. If the Lakers win, it'll be through their guards. LAL frontcourt ain't got ish on us.

The Celtics continue to amaze. Their second half of the regular season may have been the biggest possum act in professional sports history. Rondo is instant legend in Boston if they pull this off. I have to think they will right now. After seeing Orlando against them, I'm not as pissed off at cleveland's performance as I was. Boston really was just that much better than them as it turns out.

Boston may be the most dominant, run of the mill regular season team in NBA playoff history. The playoffs by the way are so drawn out that there is no buzz at all. Naturally 2 potential sweeps and no really close games doesnt help but the 2 and 3 days between games stuff is terrible.

Just looked up the second Rockets championship team during the Jordan baseball years. They went 47-35 and were a 6 seed who beat the 60 win Jazz, 59 win Suns, 62 win Spurs and 57 win Magic in the playoffs. They won winner take all road games in the first two rounds against the Jazz and Suns. That was quite a run. They were run of the mill, but nowhere near as dominant in postseason but still beating really good teams. Though after going 7-5 in the first two rounds, they went 8-2 in the Conference finals and finals.

Washington Bullets 1978. 44-38 regular season team. Repeated as Eastern conference champs the following year.

Although I obviously think the Lakers will win this series, I think the Suns may still win a couple of games. I expect the Suns to win tonight.

You know the old expression, "Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while." LOL.

The Bullets hardly dominated during the 78 playoffs. Outside of a bad game against Cleveland, a bad quarter against Cleveland and a superhuman effort by D Wade the C's have pretty much dominated every game.

The el foldo the magic pulled in the finals was an alltime disgraceful performance though Houston certainly took care of business. That was a pretty impressive run.
