I hit a 91MPH fastball once, I went 1-3 against the guy, who ended up getting drafted by the Marlins. It was a solid opposite field hit but there is no way I could hit it consistently. 96mph, I would be clueless

fastest pitcher I've ever went against threw 86, and I went 1-4 against him at the Notre Dame baseball camp. It helped that the catcher was a buddy of mine at the camp and he told me that a fastball was coming, because his curve and change was nasty and without knowing what was coming I would have been screwed. Pretty nice shot to left center.

I hit 5 home runs in one game off Randy Johnson.

I could not get the bat around on a 70 mph little league fastball.
No way no how could I hit a 90 mph fastball unless I had a tennis racket.

And then I could send it back faster.

Not as tough to hit as a 88-89mph nasty slider...

I would take the 96mph heater over that...

My family owns some batting cages, and I can crank one machine up to 80 and hit it pretty easy, then again I know what's coming and it's always right down the middle.

Hit it? Hell I couldn't stand still in the batters box without full body armor on. I'd be more like John Kruk was against Randy Johnson that time in the all-star game.
