Wow! There are lots of stakes races on Saturday! I am partial to California tracks. Should we mix it up with two tracks this week?

Please let me know what you think.

JolyB 01-11-2021 04:54 PM

Alli, congrats on your points win.

I wonder if you have had a chance to look at the stakes races on the Fair Grounds card this Saturday. Entries are already available. The Lecomte will award Derby qualifying points.

Alli 01-11-2021 06:10 PM

I did see the Fairgrounds races. I was thinking that the CA Cup Derby would be a qualifying race but I guess not. I like Fairgrounds, too. Those horses have done well on Derby weekend for the past few years. What about races 8-13 at Fairgrounds and the 5 stakes races at Santa Anita? Thoughts?

I haven't seen the schedule for SA yet, so don't know if those races are together, so I guess that would make a difference. There's a lot of Maiden races before the stakes races at Fairgrounds. I know how much everyone loves those. :)

I myself don't like to handicap two separate cards except on special days. I don't mind adding a race or two. Just my two cents.

We've played multi tracks before, we can do so again. That's the fun benefit of winning! It's thoughtful to ask for suggestions, yet the winner gets to choose. The players should be up to the task. :)

We may be a bunch of dinosaurs:eek:, but I imagine we can adapt to wherever you choose Alli. Fairgrounds was very kind to us the last time we played there and of course the Le Comte may produce a participant or two in the Kentucky Derby.

Digger 01-13-2021 06:45 AM

Congratulations allie on your winning performance. It's always a difficult decision when asked, where we do we go now, especially when others are involved. Go wherever your heart sends you and they should follow.

Sorry, everyone. Work is a beast and Santa Anita didn't post entries until this afternoon.

I would like to include Fairgrounds races 9-13 and Santa Anita race 6-10. That's 10 races and should give Ruffian plenty of time to handicap. If we handicapped races 4-9 at Santa Anita, that would be 11 races and include the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf Race.

So, I'm good either way....let me know if you want to include the extra turf race.

Alli 01-13-2021 06:26 PM

So...FG 3, 9-13 and SA 4, 6-9. Good luck everyone!

Nice win Alli. Been busy for several days loving to hate buying or leasing a car. It consumes all y energy but I got a good deal finally on a lease for a 2021 VW Tiguan SUV. Missed my previous SUV, and so it goes.

I think I understand what the card will be so I put up the thing tomorrow morning central time. Oooops sorry JB already beat me to it, good. Thanks JB.

Only thing worse than buying a car is maybe finding a job or maybe moving. All three right up there in bad life experiences. :zz::wf

Hope that you enjoy your new car Don. After you have been through the math exercises involved in figuring out how the lease obligations are calculated, it should be very easy for you to compute a superfecta or pick 4 in your ROI wager.

While many point out it is a bit more expensive to lease rather than to buy, it is very nice to have a car under the new car warranty and at the end of the lease term simply return it and pick out a new one.

Yep, all scheduled maintenance is covered for term of lease and I added a little $ to take care of wiper blades, tire damage or replacement, batteries, belts, etc. Main reason I traded in my 2005 Benz E302 diesel was the very big cost of maintenance and parts and it needed over $3,000 worth of work done. Loved the Benz but it was sadly time to say goodbye.
