I don’t get the Dirt Mile and the two turns with Mitole.

His best has come at 7f (CD & Forego) and 1m (Met) and his one off effort this year came at 6f (Vanderbilt, albeit on the dead inside). The Dirt Mile is a silly event, but it is a high-enough profile two turn G1 that can enhance his resume. He's going to Spendthrift and they may have been in on the decision too. If he gets beat, a loss in the Dirt Mile doesn't dent his fender like a loss in the Sprint.

I’m not sure I agree his best efforts have been at 7F and a mile. And while he was not good in the Vanderbilt, he had an excuse. He was brilliant in both six furlong races at Oaklawn in the winter and all last season.

He already won the race that is the most coveted stallion maker by winning the Met. The thing is, he has a chance to definitively win the eclipse with a win in the sprint. But, winning the Mile doesn’t necessarily mean the sprinter eclipse if Imperial Hint wins. And if he loses the Mile and Imperial Hint wins, he’s definitely not winning.

I suppose a win in the Mile could make him the favorite for the older male eclipse, assuming a longshot or 3 year old wins then Classic.

He just doesn’t strike me as a two turn horse and while I’m not paying the bills, this does seem like a Spendthrift decision because you’d think Asmussen would’ve tried to get a two turn race into him. Just seems strange to me and more evidence of how terrible the Mile has been for various BC races.

Pulling a Liam's Map with Mitole would be unfortunate.

Sprint as likely as Mile for Mitole.. Was just providing a rationale for Mile consideration.

🆕 "I’m almost positive he’s going with the Sprint," owner Rick Porter says of Omaha Beach's
@BreedersCup
destination. And more major races are on the colt's agenda after that: http://bit.ly/35yIhqB

I can't see OB as a factor in the Sprint.
His BEST figs are inferior to more than one other in there.

I would put him in the Dirt Mile.

Mandella chooses Dirt Mile for Omaha Beach..

Weird that two days ago Porter was sure the Sprint was where he was going.

I would guess that means Mitole in the Sprint. And heck, the Sprint looks like the best race(at least the one with the most good horses) of the weekend.

Smart choice in my opinion. Didn’t see him having a shot in sprint.

Landeskog very possible in the Sprint per Doug O'Neill on ATR Friday..

Promises Fulfilled out of Cup consideration..

Landeskog a Sprint SCR

PRIVMAN: Landeskog will be scratched from @BreedersCup Sprint, per O'Neill

Landeskog will be scratched from the Breeders' Cup Sprint on Saturday, trainer Doug O'Neill said on Tuesday morning.

"He's 95 percent. Not 100. We have to wait for another day," O'Neill said. "He's a cool horse with a bright future."

O'Neill said that Landeskog "cooled out a little funny" after his last work. "He tied up, not bad," he said.

O'Neill said a nuclear scan was done and X-rays were clean. Landeskog went back to the track for a routine day of training on Tuesday, but O'Neill said he was "not 100-percent happy" with how he went and decided it was best to pass.

He said the owners of Landeskog, including Erik Johnson of the Colorado Avalanche, "made it easy to do the right thing."

"They said the horse comes first," O'Neill said.

Question on Juvenile Turf Sprint. Am I correct in assuming that all these Euro Turf Sprints are contested on a Straight Away and the Euro entries in this race don't have experience in taking a turn during an actual race?

Just like his namesake. Bummer.

I'm pretty sure DRF PPs have a designation after the circled "t" for turf.

there is a small str or LH

I saw a few scattered LH...but for most part was str
