9/29/18 Belmont Late PK4/PK5

This is why i tend to avoid Belmont/NY racing.

Late PK 5
7) $2.40
8) $12.00
9) $10.80
10) $93.00
11) $10.00

Comes back for $14,899

Late PK4
8) $12.00
9) $10.80
10) $93.00
11) $10.00

Comes back for $4,798

Admittedly i don't know how to do the parlay multiplier, but just taking into consideration the large wagering day, you got 3 horses paying over $10 to win, all beat odds on favorites, and you throw in an impossible $93.00 horse to win the feature and this $0.50 wager can't even crack $5K? Considering all the above factors, anywhere outside of NY this pays 5-figures, IMO.

For me, NY Racing is just too smart.

Discreet Lover was 15-1 when the bets were placed and if you threw out the race before was right in the mix if you felt Diversify was beatable. I didn't see the races Saturday and didn't play so was shocked when I saw that horse paid $93. I imagine it was on more tickets then expected. That being said no favorites won any of the 4 races coupled with that so I would have been wanting lots more if I hit that.

Well, the P5 was essentially a P4 given Imperial Hint's presence.

I absolutely agree with that, but isn't that wager limited to NYRA Bets? Which is a much smaller wagering pool.

Like Tom said, if by some stroke of quick-pick luck i had that PK4, i would be salty with that return. It's almost like the smarts up there have every angle covered and the prices reflect it.

P4 Parlay was $3,766.50 for .50, so it paid 127%. That's low, but not absurd. The average P4 pays about 2.5x the parlay.
