My word Phil D. can develop some speedy grass horses.
He won the BC Sprint last year with the cheetah like Obviously.
Over the weekend Enola Gray rips off a a blazing mile in 1.33 flat.
He then saddles Pee Wee Reese to go wire to wire in 1.32 and change.
I would say Phil D. is now the top West Coast turf trainer.

Knowing how and where to use therapeutic drugs is half the battle. People called Dutrow a juicer because he properly diagnosed what was bothering other peoples horses once he claimed them. Must of the time he corrected others trainers errors. I would be very surprised if Dmato was using nefarious drugs he most likely is a great horsemen gets good stock and knows how to use therapeutic legal medication as indicated.

Please the guy had a million violations 95% were BS overages of therapeutic drugs, then the guy was careless as heck and had a million BS violations for other stupid non performance enhancing stupid crap. You know how many Dutrow's broke down on the track and needed the screen to be put up in his career? Maybe 1 or 2 I have read and heard none but I cant confirm

Of the 64 violations that Dutrow has on record very few were overages or for any medication whatsoever. Vast majority are for what's called 'failure to tend to business in a proper manner' usually requiring SCR's. Failure to have a coggins on file, failure to have foal papers on file, properly report equipment change, plus smoking on the shed row write-ups, etc. I'm away in Maine, but have it at home. Can be found on the NYS Gaming website if you want to look.

@ FM:
You got a little confused Freddy.
My post was strictly a compliment to trainer Phil,he's done great work doing something that's very difficult to do........getting quick grass horses to keep going.
On the dirt speed will carry(especially in So. Cal).........but not so much on the sticks.
I wasn't making any medication references towards D'Amato.
Cakes was just poking a little bit of fun at him.
BTW Freddy.......what did you think of Enola Gray/Pee Wee Reese races over the weekend ?

Enola gray is a very very cool horse. Do i think she would succeed in Europe at the Group level not a chance. Do I think she will ship to NYRA and have a chance in graded comp not really .. Will she make her connections a fortune being spotted in races she can crush You bet. Didnt see Pee wee run..

Try Fore Street, or it's sister restaurant, Scales.

Both are pricey, but great.

Enola's two route races were fantastic. I think she would do just fine in NYRA races.
