Hooves, that Disco's Son horse can really run but is a headcase. I'll never forget his debut at Belmont or Toga and he opened at like 4/5, went off at 7/1 into a Pletcher nut firster and a couple regally bred horses and got 2nd after hitting the rail like three times or something.

You also have ZERO chance of getting 8/1, ZERO, he will be 4/1 or 5/1, still a good price, but from what I remember, he is almost ALWAYS played

Was ontrack yesterday. It was cloudy and in mid 50's with 10-15mph breeze. All seats in the teletheater were soldout and they were 3-4 deep standing beyhond the ropes to watch tvs 50 feet away. The restaurant was booming, as the sole racetrack room to stay warm out of the cold. THIS is Magna and Frank Stronachs way of treating his horse racing customers, with utter contempt for basic amenities. The south clubhouse simulcasting room was gutted and closed with the place empty, probably waiting more slot machines. How can Frank Stronach possibly say that Horseracing is their number one business when they treat their customers in such a shabby manner ? Of course the slots players could have a FREE seat at their machines, while horse players stood shoulder to shoulder trying to keep out of the cold. :mad:

I played golf yesterday morning and it was 55 deg and we had a slight bit of rain. Cooler weather doesn't bother me. A couple weeks ago I spent two days in Minneapolis and Chicago. That was freezing.

If you hate being at Gulf, why not just go to Palm Beach Dogs where it's probably easier to find a warm chair and you don't have to put yourself in the position of being insulted or held in contempt?

I'm not bashing you; I've lived down here for 3 years and I just still cannot get over people talking about windchill when it is 60 degrees outside. Starting in May, the high will be 90 and the low will be 80. And it will stay exactly like that every day for 5 months.

I'll enjoy the cool weather while it lasts.

I doubt very seriously you spend much if any time handicapping a race. Do you anaylyze speed figs? pace scenirio's? Do you use DRF Formulator? You provide nothing more than a name with no substance to support your pick. What the hell did you see in Willard Straights to pick him? Just curious...but I think you know what I mean.

Coming to a message board and immediately going to the " selections " area and ridiculing posters who pick losers isn't clever or funny even if you are just doing it for some perverse personal amusement.

I would say either go back to your trivia questions or take a hike. Either way, this BS doesn't cut it and I would guess will lead to one of the quicker bannings in Derby Trail history.

On general handicapping Willard Straight was obviously a major contender in the race. Did you take note of his trip and impressive performance in his last race?

I didn't like him because Pletcher was giving him away and the trainer change seemed very negative. Plus with the relative lack of pace he figured up against it ( I bet the third finisher Si Or No who rated to set a slow pace ). However, certainly on paper Willard Straight had many merits, like him or not.

Give us some picks before the race, disagree with an opinion before the race, or take a hike.
