Damn, Big Ole Snow Storm Has Arrived

Been coming down at a rate of an inch an hour, we got right around 5 or 6 inches since the sun came up. Now, we are smack dab in the middle of the line of rain versus snow, nothing but sleet and freezing rain until 6 or 7pm tonight. Then, later tonight, winds will gust between 30 and 40 mph.

Just great. Shiat I am bored.

paisjpq 02-13-2007 11:25 AM

cheer up curt...the second half of the dog show is on tonight:D

2MinsToPost 02-13-2007 11:29 AM

I am concerned about losing power. Well, I am off to play Tampa Bay. Got a couple lanterns out of the garage, got plenty of grub after work, and oh yeah The Departed and another new release starring Kevin Costner, can't remember the name of it. Of course popcorn as well.

for safety's sake, be sure you blow out the lanterns before you put THAT one on. it's not safe to have those things going when you're asleep.

i'm hoping we don't get a lot...though we're looking at 4-6 inches allegedly here.

paisjpq 02-13-2007 11:52 AM

I would really love to see this storm burn itself out before it gets here...they are still predicting more than 2 feet over the next 48 hours...it's supposed to start tonight for us and end thurs. but the 35 mph winds should make even more of a mess.

We're getting some heavy rainfall in kentucky. Looks like you're in for a doozy.

Buffymommy 02-13-2007 12:03 PM

The Guardian was a pretty decent movie. I think you will like it.

Sorry about the weather though. That does suck!

2MinsToPost 02-13-2007 01:41 PM

well it is bad enough that OSU cancelled all classes, Nationwide Insurance sent almost all of its employess home, Honda cancelled 2nd and 3rd shift, and we now have betweena 1/4 and 1/2 inch of ice on the roads

2MinsToPost 02-13-2007 06:16 PM

NOT GOOD, still raining and the ice is EVERYWHERE

man I hope the power does not go out

Scav 02-13-2007 06:23 PM

We are still getting pounded Curt, wind is real serious. Have about 8 inches on the ground, and we are east of the lakes, and as you know, they always pick up power when around the lake and afterwards is when it gets real nuts

Hickory Hill Hoff 02-13-2007 06:32 PM

Looks like between 12 and 24 inches here in the Capital District region of N.Y.
Heard a clip on the local radio station (the mighty 810 WGY)
from a highway superintendent who said he was getting his guys "pumped up"
for the impeding snowfall...after all...they've have had little work this winter, plowing... LOL!
Another report was from AAA on how to have your car ready for a winter storm...another "no brainer".
What the hell did people do year's ago when we really got a lot of snow???

Bring the clubs. Been playing at a new place called Carolina Club in Tamarac... very nice and fairly reasonable.

I've been slicing up the course like a cheap ham.

2MinsToPost 02-13-2007 08:26 PM

ok, it is still raining. the bushes in front are iced like nobodies bizness, according to the radar we are supposed to be getting snow, yeah right. i am so bored i am watching the dog show and enjoying it. never watched it before, honestly it is interesting.

if my cocker spaniel was still alive, to steal scavs line, it would be comedy with me running her around. she would turn circles and pee every 20 seconds with the occasional dump, a #2. rip brandi girl, good dog she was. so was duke, a keeshound, lost him not so long ago as well.

man these people are serious.

i need a girlfriend on nights like tonight, instead i am talking to my stuffed monkees and gorillas, their names are egbert, buddy, bulldog, jake and lug nut. it is a serious lady killer when i introduce them. they are hillarious however, and have provided me with more then words can describe, like a smile in my darkest hours, no kidding. the one named bulldog drowned in a cooler at eldora speedway in 2004 for hours but he is tough. thats a long story. several of my friends have grown attached to them as well, several of them travel with me at times.

too much info.

2MinsToPost 02-13-2007 08:31 PM

oh yeah, gotta catch peyton on letterman tonight, should be funny as hell

In my area, we've had less than 5 inches all winter...today possibilty between 15 & 30...it's light, fluffy stuff though.
My new roof from last year can take it.

All light snow here, but a lot of it.

Those areas got killed last week, west of me in the "Tug Hill" area near Lake Ontario...over 100 inches in one place since last Weds.

Gander 02-14-2007 08:03 AM

Hooves- Out towards Oswego county (2 hrs West of Saratoga) there have been as much as 15o inches of snow so far this winter. The areas around that have got pummeled too, luckily we have been spared all winter until last night and today. The snow is falling heavily here and we're suppose to get between 2 and 3 feet total. I am about 1 of 10 people who made it into our office today, out of 140 people. Roads are horrendous and it hasnt really even gotten started.

Pointg5 02-14-2007 08:08 AM

We've got about 4-5 inches on the ground, problem is we have alot of ice, the trees in my front yard are bending so bad that they are touching the ground if they haven't snapped, one tree is going to die, also there's a cable laying on my front porch going all the way down front yard...I would rather have snow than ice...

Hickory Hill Hoff 02-14-2007 08:10 AM

Out to shovel...round 1

VA-DC-MD has any where from '3-'6 inches (in the last 2 days). Snow really isn't the problem here, it was all night sleetfest that has made the roads awful

Needless to say, i "attempted" to make it out of my court today with little success. Damn, looks like i'll just have to play Gulfstreem and Santa Anita all day..... it's a tough life
