Circular Quay off the board. Notional wins....Didn't see it.
|
slew's tizzy clipped heels in the stretch and threw jockey, it did impact other horses. *back to lurking*

How did Slew's Tizzy look before that? My nephew liked this horse.

Notional was impressive, I had Zanjero but he was 2nd best. Not sure what happened to circular quay, he might have been affected by the thrown jockey. Im not a dude :)

Notional waqs wonderful today Rand.. Did all O'Neill would want... Grew up a lot. Sat off while outside; moved when asked and fought for lead; looked collared and stayed on between horses before drawing off to win by a couple.
Circular Quay was down inside and marooned. Nowhere to go at the top of the stretch. As is always the problem with horses like him... Bill Kaplan's "W&CGuy" ran very nicely chasing wide and coming on late. Zanjero third but I never really "saw" what he was doing... Don't know how far Notional wants to stretch, but he's a quality colt and all the way back to his insanely huge debut now... O'Neill-Reddam and Bill Kaplan... 30% of the Derby field between them? Possible... |

Buffymommy, Slew's Tizzy was not going to win anyway, I dont think, but he looked okay after the incident, he ran on through the wire. Thanks for the welcome!

He ran on well to be fifth. Not sure he would have been the winner, but may have made it interesting..... |

I'm confused....did anyone actually WATCH this race?
Circular Quay, who I don't like and bet against, had an " Invasor trip " times ten. He was jammed inside by Velasquez and when the horse broke down directly in front of him he was COMPLETELY eliminated and lost many lengths. Please watch this race again. Look, I don't think a great deal of Circular Quay going two turns, but the flow of the race fit his running style and he did VERY well to finish where he did considering his ridiculous amount of trouble. |

Well, one place he wasn't finishing was third....being that a head seperated the second and third finishers. I have no idea where he would have finished, save to say much closer than he did, and I will bet against him when he is ridiculously overbet again next time. He's a closing sprinter and not even necessarily a particularly good one at that. However, he was completely eliminated today, after getting a very sweet trip albeit he was a bit slow out of the gate and the horse outside of him came over. Since he was dropping out of it anyway it really didn't particularly affect his positioning. |
Circular Quay was down on the rail and got reamed by the horse right in front of him. He was so full of run i believe that he was going to easily win the race. Others may disagree but i strongly believe he would have drawn off.

And yes, he'll be stupidly overbet next time.... much like he was today. |
